00:17 Malacanang allots 4.4 million pesos for T-shirts and jackets for the anniversary of the office
00:22 of the president.
00:23 Google removes cached website links from its search results.
00:27 Philippines King Charles is diagnosed with a form of cancer.
00:31 And celebrity couple Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque call off their wedding.
00:38 Prices of goods accelerate at a slower pace for the fourth straight month in January as
00:42 food prices continue to stabilize.
00:45 The Philippine Statistics Authority reports the inflation rate in January 2024 eased further
00:50 to 2.8%.
00:52 This is well within the government's target range of 2 to 4%.
00:56 The latest figure is lower than the 3.9% posted in December 2023 and the 8.7% recorded in
01:03 January 2023.
01:05 The Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas earlier projected that lower prices of vegetables and sugar
01:10 will contribute to downward price pressures.
01:12 But it also said that higher prices of rice, meat, fruits, and fish, with increased petroleum
01:17 prices as well as electricity and water rates, can drive up inflation.
01:24 Malacanang allots 4.4 million pesos for customized apparel for the anniversary celebration of
01:29 the office of the president.
01:31 Based on available bidding documents, the office set aside a maximum budget of 3.3 million
01:36 pesos for 2,000 pieces of reversible corporate jackets and 1.1 million pesos for 2,000 pieces
01:42 of anniversary shirts with embroidery.
01:45 This is not the first time Malacanang is holding a public bidding for customized apparel to
01:50 mark DOP's founding anniversary.
01:52 Under the Duterte administration, DOP also approved a 1.2 million budget for hoodie jackets.
01:58 The latest public bidding for customized apparel comes after the Presidential Communications
02:03 Office held a one-day concert to launch the Bagong Pilipinas campaign.
02:08 Bidding documents show Malacanang spent at least 16.4 million pesos for the event.
02:15 Google removes cached website links from its search results.
02:19 A cached link lets you see a saved, older version of a webpage when the website you're
02:23 trying to access was down.
02:25 The feature also lets users check older versions of webpages to see whether a page has been
02:29 updated.
02:30 Search liaison Danny Sullivan says in a post on X, cached links were meant to help people
02:35 access pages when you couldn't depend on a page loading.
02:38 He adds, "They decided to retire it because, these days, things have greatly improved."
02:44 When Google's web crawler indexed and updated webpages, the system would also save copies
02:48 of what was being seen by the web crawler.
02:53 After waiting for seven decades to become sovereign, Britain's King Charles is diagnosed
02:57 with a form of cancer.
02:59 It's been less than 18 months since he ascended to the throne.
03:02 Buckingham Palace announces the 75-year-old Charles would postpone public-facing duties
03:07 while he undergoes treatment, but is looking forward to returning to full public duty as
03:12 soon as possible.
03:13 The type of cancer nor the prognosis was not revealed, but the palace clarifies it is not
03:17 prostate cancer.
03:19 The BBC reports Charles informed both his sons personally about his diagnosis, and Prince
03:24 Harry is set to fly to the United Kingdom from the United States to see his father in
03:28 the coming days.
03:30 Charles became monarch on the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth, in September 2022,
03:34 having been the longest-serving heir apparent in British history.
03:38 He was crowned on May 6, 2023.
03:43 It's official, celebrity couple Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque have parted ways and called
03:47 off their wedding.
03:49 Talk show host Boy Abunda confirms this in an episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Tuesday,
03:54 February 6.
03:55 Rumors of the breakup have been circulating for some time before Abunda's confirmation.
04:00 He adds there's a possibility Bea and Dominic are still trying to talk things out, but Bea
04:05 has sent back the engagement ring.
04:07 Abunda also talks about a supposed prenup agreement between the two, saying it was a
04:11 non-issue.
04:13 The ex-couple was engaged in July 2023.
04:16 Dominic surprised Bea with the proposal as the actress was doing a photoshoot in Bataan.
04:20 They've been together for four years.
