Transcript
00:00 This is George Priest reporting for Liverpool World after Sean Dyche has just given his latest press conference ahead of their trip to
00:05 Fates Manchester City in the Premier League this weekend. Starting off with team news,
00:09 he announced that
00:11 Abdoulaye Dioufoure will not be ready for this one.
00:13 He said he's progressing well and he has been on the grass but hasn't been training with the squad and he won't be available for
00:18 the trip to City, which is obviously a big blow considering he's been one of Everton's best players this season and he has missed
00:23 the last four games, so he's becoming a little bit of a worry.
00:25 But as Dyche confirmed, he should be back soon.
00:27 So that's good news. In terms of other good news, Amadou Anand should be back in contention as well.
00:32 He has also missed the last two games
00:34 and he's a key figure as well and having him back in midfield will be a huge boost for them ahead of what is going to be
00:40 a very difficult test away at City. Dyche also confirmed there is no Andre Gomes available for this one,
00:45 no Arnout Dandjouma and no Dele Alli.
00:48 But Ashley Young and Seamus Coleman have both been progressing well and should be available for the weekend. In terms of Manchester City,
00:54 they currently have no injuries and that makes them the only team in the Premier League to have no registered absences.
00:59 And of course, Erling Haaland is back, Kevin De Bruyne is back now, so it becomes an even harder task for Dyche and his side.
01:06 Now, what is interesting for this game is Sean Dyche will not be on the touchline having received a third yellow card of the season
01:12 last week when appealing a decision against Beto in the two-a-draw against Tottenham.
01:17 He will serve a one-match touchline suspension and he did clarify that he was initially arguing about the Beto foul at the edge of the box.
01:24 Instead of the penalty shot, which of course sent Goodison Park into ruptures and he wasn't looked at by the VAR.
01:29 So it was a decision that fans will look back to as being a potential turning point in that game.
01:34 But Dyche will have to serve a one-match suspension and it will be difficult to have a not on the touchline for such a big game.
01:39 Now, in terms of this game last season, Frank Lampard took a side to the Etihad and managed to come away with a point
01:46 thanks to a bit of magic from Damari Gray.
01:49 And that was a similar game in terms of the narrative.
01:51 Everton were struggling at the time as well in a relegation battle and nobody gave them a hope of securing a point.
01:56 And it's the same story once again.
01:58 And it's probably going to take another bit of magic similar to that Damari Gray wonder goal for them
02:03 to earn what will be a vital point away at the reigning champions this weekend.
