A look at how Everton have got on so far this season.
Transcript
00:00Looking at Everton and midway season, they haven't had the best of seasons over the last few years and overshadowed by a bit of mediocrity that they want to get rid of when they move to the new stadium.
00:14What's the situation when you look back at the start of this season and how it's gone?
00:20Obviously they had that terrible run at the very start and Everton fans were certainly thinking the worst.
00:26It's been a positive end to 2024 off the pitch, but on the pitch this season it's been underwhelming you have to say.
00:36Everton finished comfortably above relegation last season without the points deductions.
00:41I don't think anyone thought they were going to be finishing top 10, top 8, but they didn't expect them to be absolutely in the mire again.
00:52That's what they are at this moment after 19 games, because they don't score enough goals and they don't win enough games.
01:00Three wins in 19, 15 goals in 19 scores.
01:05Those sorts of stats are pointing towards a team that is going to be struggling and Sean Dyche hasn't been able to find the solutions to it.
01:16He's been at the club for two years, he's saying these issues have gone on for longer than I have.
01:21Two years is a long time to be an Everton manager and he's going to keep getting asked these questions against Bournemouth.
01:29They didn't have a shot on target, they were toothless again.
01:31It's not the big teams that struggle against Everton, they always put up a fight against Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea.
01:39Because the games are probably set up for them to defend and keep the shape and try and nick a goal maybe on the counter attack.
01:45But when they have to do a bit more on the front foot, they just struggle.
01:51It's no surprise that some fans want to see the freedom crew make a change.
01:59Will they make a change?
02:01They've still got other issues to sort out with the club first and the boards.
02:05They've still got to sort out maybe a new director of football and make a decision on that.
02:09And who will want to come to Everton?
02:12Maybe for the short term or the long term.
02:14But the season so far, I have to say, there haven't been too many positives on the pitch.
02:21The draws, as I say, have shown resolve in those.
02:26But the attack and potency is so, so lacklustre.
02:34Can't get anyone really fired on whatsoever.
02:38Don't let Calvert-Lewin struggle.
02:40Armando Breuer has come back but maybe might be out injured now.
02:45Players like Jack Harrison have completely jettisoned.
02:50There's a lot for Jones Ice to answer in the second half of the season
02:53because it's looking like they are going to be in another dogfight.
