00:00 >> This series last year, you guys got swept.
00:02 How big of a motivation is that for you and how much are you,
00:05 low so take a lead back?
00:07 >> Yeah, I mean, obviously that's on everybody's mind.
00:09 I was here last year, just 0 and 3.
00:11 I mean, obviously that's kind of embarrassing for us to be in a big rivalry
00:13 game, so we're trying to relay that to all the new guys and just let them know,
00:17 like, this is a big thing in Oklahoma.
00:19 We gotta take care of business.
00:20 >> Bob.
00:22 >> Yeah, Sam, what did that second half mean to you on Tuesday and
00:25 what did it mean to the team?
00:27 >> I mean, it was big.
00:28 Obviously, we needed a win, we needed to get things rolling again.
00:31 I mean, I just feel like we put together a big 40 minute performance for us and
00:34 just kind of got us back on the right track.
00:35 So we're hoping to keep that up and expect some wins.
00:38 >> Jesse.
00:40 >> Sam, what do you see out of this Oklahoma State team?
00:42 I know they've kind of struggled a little bit through conference play, but
00:45 you kind of throw that out the window with this rivalry.
00:47 What have you seen from that movie on film?
00:49 >> I mean, they have talented individual players.
00:51 I mean, it's the Big 12, so anybody can be anybody.
00:53 You gotta respect every opponent, and that's what we're doing.
00:55 We had great practice yesterday.
00:56 We locked in their scout and just learned their tendency.
00:58 So I mean, it's gonna be a physical, hard-fought match.
01:01 It's like every game in the Big 12, and I think we know that.
01:03 [BLANK_AUDIO]
01:06 >> Chris, what did you see in the scouts and things they do where you feel like you
01:09 need to stop?
01:10 >> I mean, similar to BYU, they run a little bit of blast offense.
01:12 So that's, I mean, BYU's probably the best in the country at blast offense.
01:15 I feel like we had a good taste of that.
01:16 We'll be ready for that.
01:17 Let's see, they got a couple shooters, three really good guards that shoot,
01:21 two solid big men, a couple guys from Oklahoma that I've watched a little bit.
01:25 So it's kinda cool to go against them, but
01:27 obviously hopefully ruin their first bedlam experience cuz they're on the other side.
01:31 So.
01:31 >> John had that stretch the other night where he scored like seven straight.
01:37 When he's providing that kind of value,
01:38 just how much easier does it make it for you when you come in the game?
01:41 >> I mean, John makes it easier for everybody.
01:43 He's one of the most diverse, skilled bigs in the country, honestly.
01:46 He can post up, as you guys see.
01:48 He can shoot a middie, he can facilitate, he can pass, he can shoot threes.
01:51 To me, John's one of the best players in the country, to be honest.
01:54 And it's kinda overlooked sometimes, but yeah, John's a hooper for sure.
01:59 >> Josh.
02:01 >> Yeah, Sam, also you're an Oklahoma kid.
02:03 Future bedlam is murky.
02:04 Just how special is it for you personally to get to play?
02:07 And who knows next time, they'll come here after finishing.
02:10 >> I mean, yeah, it's a big thing.
02:11 Nobody knows what the future holds.
02:13 We're just focused on this game coming up, and
02:14 we're doing everything we can to make sure we get this win.
02:16 So it's exciting.
02:17 >> Any additional questions for Sam?
02:20 Go back to Chris.
02:21 >> Yeah, Sam, what do you expect the atmosphere to be like?
02:23 >> Honestly, it's probably gonna be crowded.
02:25 I mean, obviously we're kinda paying tribute to Toby Key, so
02:28 that's gonna bring in a lot more people.
02:29 It's already bedlam, so it's just gonna be hopefully a packed environment,
02:31 a lot of fun, and hopefully we'll get the win, have a good time.
02:34 >> Bob.
02:37 >> Up and down as a team the last couple weeks, what makes you confident, or
02:41 what's the key to trying to sustain and maintain and
02:45 build off of what you did Tuesday?
02:47 >> I mean, yeah, something Porter's talked about a little bit is just
02:49 trying to be consistent.
02:50 We get some wins, and then you'll see a little slippage.
02:53 So we're just trying to be consistent in our process and our prep,
02:56 just doing the same routine, making sure we're all locked in.
02:58 So I mean, like I said, yesterday was a great day for us.
03:00 We're all locked in, we're all excited for
03:02 the opportunity to get another win under our belt, so.
03:05 >> Cool.
03:06 >> I know he's a little younger, but Garrison, obviously Oklahoma kid,
03:08 what kind of challenges does he present on tape?
03:10 >> Yeah, I mean, he's obviously extremely skilled,
03:11 highly recruited kid out of high school.
03:13 I've watched him quite a bit.
03:14 Yeah, I mean, he's raw just for being a freshman, but him getting thrown in
03:18 the mix pretty early that OSU is gonna help him tremendously in his future.
03:22 So he's gonna be a great player in his career.
