00:00 Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we're counting down our picks for the comic book characters
00:15 that we feel deserve their fair shot in the gaming sphere.
00:29 We will be including anti-heroes, while also staying away from caped crusaders that have
00:33 already featured heavily in games prior.
00:55 Jaime Reyes seems to finally be getting the spotlight he deserves, what with him entering
01:00 James Gunn's DC universe, while also being a major supporting character in numerous animated
01:05 projects.
01:06 Sure he was pretty slick in Injustice 2, but how about letting him headline his own game?
01:18 Let us take control of the Scarab and go absolutely wild with out of this world weaponry.
01:23 Take the prototype/infamous formula, work in some slick traversal and you've got the
01:28 makings of a good ol' time.
01:29 Oh and keep the buster sword.
01:41 Invincible
01:42 Yes, we know, Invincible guarding the globe exists.
01:51 But how about giving one of the hottest heroes on the block a legitimate video game?
01:56 Robert Kirkman's grounded take on the superhero genre remains beloved to this day, due to
02:00 the flawed nature of its heroes, the grit of the world they inhabit and a whole heaping
02:05 helping of brutal violence.
02:13 This could be the superman game everyone has been dying to play, only with a lot more guts
02:18 and gore.
02:19 Fly around the globe, punch out alien threats of every size and test our mettle against
02:24 an omni man boss fight.
02:35 Red X
02:36 Look, Red Hood had his time to shine in Gotham Knights, so why not let an adjacent version
02:47 have a go in the gaming scene.
02:49 Made famous in the beloved Teen Titans cartoon before making his comic debut in Teen Titans
02:54 Academy, Red X is a thief with nearly every gadget imaginable at his disposal, and twice
02:59 the amount of puns.
03:00 He's also got something of a moral compass that he adheres to when the chips are down.
03:16 Sounds like the making of a killer protagonist for his own game, one that could combine stealth,
03:21 combat, heists, maybe even a morality system, all immersed amongst the heroes and villains
03:26 of the DC Universe.
03:28 Make it happen people!
03:40 Agent Venom
03:41 Insomniac's Spider-Man 2 teased this version of the webhead's greatest foe, but now it's
03:58 time for the real thing.
03:59 Whether it's Flash Thompson in control of the symbiote or another stand in, let us gear
04:03 up and take on the missions too shady for Spidey to handle.
04:07 Given that he's a soldier first, playing as Agent Venom could allow for a blend of
04:11 hard hitting web action as well as gunplay.
04:14 Less Call of Duty, more Devil May Cry.
04:16 It would certainly allow him to stand out from Spider-Man's shadow, not to mention
04:20 serve as a great excuse for some creative biomes as he tackles high risk missions across
04:24 the globe.
04:25 Or, if you want to remove Venom from the equation but still give us a symbiote on the side of
04:30 good, Toxin is always an option.
04:33 Beta Ray Bill
04:42 Maybe one day we'll get the Thor game of our dreams, but by this point, the God of
04:46 Thunder has featured in a crazy amount of titles.
04:50 Time to pass the hammer on to someone else, and who better than his fellow lightning wielding,
04:54 Shakespearean speaking brother in arms.
05:12 You could easily have Beta Ray Bill wielding Stormbreaker and raining hell down on Asgard's
05:17 enemies in some fantasy God of War inspired combat.
05:21 Maybe pair it up with him living on Earth in disguise, struggling to adapt to human
05:25 culture.
05:26 Give the Corbanite a chance to prove himself worthy.
05:40 Savage Dragon
05:42 Now here is a deep cut.
05:44 One of Image's longest running heroes is more than deserving of his own game.
05:48 If only for having such a simple yet engaging premise.
05:51 A giant dragon humanoid with super strength and durability, works for the police department
05:57 and solves crimes.
05:58 You could do so much with that.
06:01 Lean into the detective aspect just as much as the explosive action.
06:05 Sure, the idea of having someone akin to the Hulk going full L.A. Noire might sound ridiculous,
06:10 but that's sort of the beauty of it.
06:12 The man's been around long enough to at least deserve a shot at gaming credibility.
06:17 The Boys
06:18 There's been no better commentary, satire and deconstruction of all things superhero
06:33 in recent memory than The Boys.
06:36 Average joes using whatever means necessary to take down god like beings who have become
06:40 poisoned by their own celebrity status.
06:42 It's dripping with gaming potential.
06:45 And while we all cry ourselves to sleep every night knowing Kojima will likely never get
06:50 around to making his version of such a project, it would be nice to see someone take a crack
06:55 at it.
07:00 The possibilities are shockingly vast.
07:02 The gameplay loop of locating and analysing a supe's weakness.
07:05 The tension of confronting them with nothing but wits and weaponry.
07:09 And the satisfaction of taking them down.
07:11 Please, don't make HeroGasm a story mission.
07:21 Nightcrawler
07:33 We all know that another X-Men game will be coming around before this console generation
07:37 is done, but who knows which members of the team will make the cut.
07:40 If there's one among the roster we'd like to see have a chance to strut his stuff solo,
07:45 it would be the devilishly dapper gentleman with a knack for teleporting.
07:48 The combat potential for Nightcrawler, especially if you pair him with his iconic swords, would
07:53 be incredible.
07:55 If you want to take it one step further, he is technically wearing the mantle of Spider-Man
07:59 these days, so do with that what you will.
08:13 The Sandman
08:29 The depths of Neil Gaiman's imagination is seemingly bottomless, as evident with his
08:34 iconic creation.
08:35 As a member of the Endless, Morpheus is a deity in all but name, one who wanders through
08:40 and commands the power of dreams as his domain.
08:43 How do you adapt such a concept into a game, make it trippy as can be, fully embrace the
08:47 weirdness and wonder of Gaiman's world, and chalk up one hell of a story that sees the
08:52 titular Sandman encounter the craziest and most powerful icons DC has to offer.
08:58 If Telltale were back in their prime, we'd say this would be a perfect matchup.
09:12 The Valiant Universe
09:14 Talk about untapped potential.
09:16 Neither Marvel nor DC, yet filled to the brim with heroes of every ilk, The Valiant Universe's
09:22 roster would make for a monumental foundation when it comes to action and narrative focused
09:27 games.
09:28 Sure, Turok and Shadow Man may have been major misfires back in their day, but those were
09:32 just the tip of the iceberg.
09:34 Exo Manowar is what happens when you put a Roman slave inside of the galaxy's strongest
09:39 armour.
09:40 Ninjak is a super spy combined with a ninja aesthetic.
09:42 Peter Sanchek is an ex-addict who just so happens to be a psychic with world-ending
09:47 potential.
09:48 Whereas Zephyr's unabashed positivity as the fangirl turned superhero speaks to the
09:52 nerd in all of us.
09:54 And that's just scratching the surface.
09:56 Which of these masked marauders do you think needs to enter the gaming scene?
10:00 Let us know in the comments.
