00:00 The Department of Education has postponed the completion of classes in public schools for the school year 2023-2024.

00:07 They plan to resume classes in June 2027.

00:11 According to Department Order 3 of the DepEd, the current school year will end on May 31 instead of June 14.

00:20 That's why the school break is also adjusted.

00:23 From June 17 to August 25, it will be June 1 until July 28.

00:30 On July 29, 2024, the school year 2024-2025 will start and end on May 16, 2025.

00:41 According to DepEd, the adjustments are far from returning students' vacation to April and May in 2027.

00:48 It's hard for students to concentrate when it's hot and it's more expensive to operate schools when it's hot.
