00:12 In 30 years of being an OFW,

00:19 he has been working abroad.

00:23 But now, he is about to become a senior citizen.

00:27 He is also on vacation.

00:29 When I applied here, it was hard to find a job.

00:34 They told me that I was overqualified.

00:38 The older OFWs who are returning home

00:46 According to DOLE,

00:47 in accordance with Republic Act 10911,

00:50 or Anti-Age Discrimination Law,

00:53 the age and ability should be the basis for applying.

01:03 in all our recruitment practices.

01:07 According to the Department of Migrant Workers, or DMW,

01:11 the recruitment of OFWs should be prepared.

01:17 By 2040, many retiring overseas Filipino workers will be returning home.

01:25 Up to now, there was a boom in our deployment.

01:30 They have been going out in millions.

01:33 We have to be ready when they start coming in.

01:36 DMW has already prepared programs for OFWs who are planning to retire.

01:43 This includes managing their hard-earned income

01:47 and finding skills.

01:50 If you are a very good domestic worker,

01:52 you can be a very good hotel manager.

01:56 If you are a good domestic worker,

01:58 you can cook, do commercial cooking,

02:00 do culinary arts,

02:02 take care of the family,

02:04 do caregiving,

02:05 and eventually graduate into more professional healthcare occupations.
