00:00 All right, we've got these two back for the first time in a little while. Sedona Prince and Madison Potter.
00:06 Questions in the room for these two?
00:08 Well, I mean, kind of going off of that, it's the first time you two have been posting a conference together in a while.
00:12 I mean, just how does it feel to be here together, be on the court together, all those things?
00:16 Man, what? I missed it. We were kind of talking on the bench, like you don't realize how much you love basketball
00:21 and how much it means to you until you're out. So, kind of took it, not taking it for granted, but in a sense you do take it for granted
00:27 because it's just your daily routine. So, when that's taken away from you, I mean, not being back on court together, I mean, it's great.
00:33 Well, it looked like tonight you guys were playing loose, the offense was kind of flowing.
00:39 Just talk about the way you guys were playing tonight, putting up 73 points.
00:44 I think we should get back into our routine, you know, learning how to play with each other and stuff.
00:49 Like Mark said, it's been three different seasons within this one season for our team.
00:54 And so, getting to play with each other again, we're kind of getting those reps and just playing more and getting more comfortable.
01:00 So, our offense is moving much, much, much better.
01:03 On the defense, you guys held tight to 29% shooting. Just talk about the defense that you guys played tonight and how far the defense has come.
01:12 Yeah, I mean, we're bringing back our zone a little bit. So, obviously, we gave up some open threes just because we haven't been doing it for a while.
01:17 So, we need to make sure that we have high hands and get out there. But, I mean, having Sedona in the paint, I mean, nobody can score over 6-7.
01:22 So, that makes our life as guards a little bit easier.
01:24 You can try to put a little bit more pressure on the guards and get out further on the three-point line and send them into her.
01:29 And she'll clean it up when you have five blocks tonight. So, that makes our life a little bit easier.
01:34 Well, yeah, I mean, you had five blocks, 29 points, a lot of rebounds, you had double-double.
01:40 I mean, that's kind of what you were doing before the injury. Did it feel a little bit like this game was kind of where you left off almost?
01:46 Yeah, so that first game I was coming off of seven weeks and no practice and no really anything like just trying to catch the ball and getting reps and getting comfortable with it and stuff.
01:55 And so, even just those four days of now being able to move the ball and feel more comfortable and just get my bearings about me have helped a lot.
02:04 I feel much, much more comfortable playing.
02:06 For y'all, just how has it been playing with Agnes? She's such a big part of y'all's game.
02:13 Yeah, I mean, Agnes has like 12 offensive rebounds in one position. I mean, that just kind of explains Agnes. She does everything.
02:22 She misses her layup, she's going to go get that rebound, I guarantee. So, you love playing with a player like her.
02:28 She's going to do whatever the team needs. And whether it's shooting the ball, I mean, she didn't shoot the best tonight, but I mean, teams have to respect her because she can shoot the ball really well.
02:36 So, love Agnes.
02:38 And then we were able to hear y'all from in here, talk about what it was like, that post-game celebration in the locker room.
02:44 It was awesome. You know, we've been through a lot this year, but it's just such an amazing group. It's such an amazing year and a lot of ups and downs, but we still persevere and learn so much and come so far.
02:55 And so, it's an amazing moment with Mark and just being able to celebrate him and what he's done this first year.
03:00 Well, and he was talking about in here how you're only guaranteed two more games after this. West Virginia in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament.
03:08 So, for you guys, what's just kind of your mindset going into each of those games, knowing you want to continue your season?
03:15 Yeah, I mean, we're hungry. I mean, nobody kind of expects us to come out there and win. So, honestly, we have nothing to lose.
03:20 It's easy to play when you're playing free. I mean, we're kind of peaking right now. We've got means to throw it back.
03:25 Our team has done a lot of good things while we've been out. Everybody's improved their game.
03:30 So, I mean, I feel like we're coming together and we're starting to mold at the right time.
03:33 So, we're just going to go out there and play free and we don't have anything to lose.
03:35 West Virginia and teams like that that we're going out there, I mean, they're ranked high. They're expected to go to the NCAA Tournament.
03:40 And we're not right now. So, we're out there trying to hunt the NCAA Tournament and play our best basketball.
03:47 You kind of mentioned this. I mean, just talk about your teammates have grown a lot in both your absences.
03:54 Just kind of the depth and what you guys have seen in them as far as their growth.
03:58 Yeah, I mean, all of them have stepped up and now they play big roles on our team and do a lot of things.
04:03 I mean, they had to. I mean, we weren't there. We were, what, a lot of the scoring and a lot of things.
04:08 And with Jada now, I mean, Una's doing a great job at point guard. When she 4-5's tonight, like, she's been taking care of the ball,
04:14 playing really well, scoring at a high level. So, I mean, everybody's done a really good job.
04:18 And, I mean, Aliyah and Agnes have really stepped up big time. So, that's going to be a huge pressure on the stretch.
04:24 Any other questions? All right. Thanks, everyone, again.
04:30 Thank you, everyone.
