I'm here today in Edgbaston, a surburb adjacent to Birmingham City Centre. It's an attractive area here in the region. I thought I'd come along to speak to a few people and find out what they like and dislike about the area and what life is like living here.

00:00 I think Hitchbaston is definitely up and coming with especially with the new
00:05 village where we are this is relatively new from what I understand. It's got a lot
00:10 of kind of new businesses coming up which is really I suppose boosting
00:16 interest in the area. It's got a lot of historic value as well with the cricket
00:20 ground I know has been around for quite a civic pride occasion which is quite
00:27 cool to have. There's a lot of boosts going on in the educational
00:32 sector I think there's a lot of private schools as well as public schools around
00:37 here so there's a lot kind of invested in the future generations and I think
00:41 it's you know I'm quite new to the area only been here for a little while but
00:46 it's it's up and coming I think it's quite residential mostly but I do I do
00:52 quite like it. Edgweston is lovely to be honest you've got the village which got
00:58 variety of things you've got Morrisons you've got the Botanic Gardens you've
01:05 got everything around you so it's really it's really a nice place to live and if
01:09 it was doing very well I would love to have a house here but well that's how it
01:13 is but let's see what the future holds. To be honest it's safe it's always clean
01:18 always tidy and lovely people lovely facility so you can't you can't fault it
01:23 at all you can't. Well I think the Crescent here that we're on now is a
01:27 lovely lovely place there's some nice little bars and restaurants you know it's
01:31 a lovely place to be they've got the there's a market that comes up I think
01:35 every I've been a few times actually I can't remember how often is that every
01:39 month or so and it's a lovely little event it's nice to ring the dob sometimes
01:43 but I suppose it yeah it just feels a bit quiet I mean right now there's not
01:47 really many people even walking down here I mean for such a nice little area
01:50 it's a shame there's not the football. Yeah I think I'd agree there's a few
01:56 really lovely little little nuggets little pockets here but I think it's not
02:03 the first place that would spring to your mind in terms of town as to to come
02:06 out to choose to come out to you I've been to a few nice places here but yeah
02:12 slightly lower football a little bit more spread out. It's a very nice area
02:19 it's you know leafy probably the word that people normally prefix Edgbaston
02:26 with I wouldn't say there's anything I particularly dislike. Lots of schools so the traffic's a bit mad
02:34 but you know it's a nice area. Okay so Eccleston is a really lovely area
02:39 asides the serenity it's really close to the city centre which is a good thing
02:44 access to good transportation like I use the tram if I'm going to the city centre
02:50 so it's really amazing and asides the I feel like there's a lot more security in
02:55 this area we do not get to hear a lot of crime issues going on in Edgbaston
03:01 village so it's really amazing
