It's a fairly leafy and quiet suburb of Birmingham which just over 10,000 people call home. I'm here today to speak to a few of the residents about what life is like for the people who live here and the best and worst things about life here in Northfield.

00:00 Northfield is good but the only downfall is there's not much for young kids to do
00:06 around here. You've got like a park and Treasure Island down the road but apart
00:11 from that there isn't anything else to do. I've got four young kids myself and I
00:15 do struggle to find things in the local area for them to do. It has gone
00:18 downhill recently in the past five years. The people are quite nice, nice to
00:24 talk to, easygoing but the one thing I don't really understand about
00:29 Northfield is that they have a Northfield beach every single
00:34 six-weeks holidays and there's not a lot in Northfield for the
00:40 community, like people with their mental health issues, people who are on drugs,
00:45 who are on alcohol, depression, anxiety and I think the government just need to put
00:50 more money into the community. I was born and brought up in Northfield. I had some
00:58 fantastic memories of it as a kid. It's obviously changed, well society's
01:03 changed in general. I live in Bartley Green now so I get down to Northfield
01:12 when I have to. I still love the place. When I come down with the wife
01:16 we're popping other pints in the Black Horse. Northfield is a pleasant city
01:24 to be in except for the traffic. I would like to see more cafes outside. I enjoy
01:35 coming to Northfield. I think it's a reasonable shopping centre. The grove is
01:40 nice. Obviously there is some undesirables but at the end of the day
01:47 that's everywhere. For actually shopping I enjoy Northfield. I come probably twice
01:53 a week and go to Kester Cafe for my little watch and people watching.
