00:00 "Hello, I'm Sherry Bobbins."
00:02 "Did you say Mary Popp-"
00:03 "No, I definitely did not."
00:05 Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the best times TV shows
00:10 parodied Disney and/or criticized the massive corporation.
00:13 "What the hell? What's happened to us?"
00:15 "I don't know, but suddenly I feel all sweet and warm and fuzzy."
00:18 Number 30. Goofy and Clarabel's Forbidden Love - Robot Chicken
00:25 This wacky robot chicken sketch pits Mickey Mouse against the concept of
00:28 interspecies relationships.
00:30 "She's a cow and you're a dog! It's unnatural!"
00:33 "Someone, try to understand it!"
00:35 "But gosh, guys, there isn't anybody like me out there."
00:38 "Well, there's Pluto."
00:39 "I'm gonna pretend I didn't hear that."
00:44 When the mouse gets riled up about Goofy and Clarabel dating,
00:47 a meeting gets arranged where other notable Disney characters share their two cents.
00:51 You'd think this plucky crew would be positive and open-minded,
00:54 but instead, they're pretty bigoted.
00:56 "You can't legislate love!"
00:57 "Oh, really? Two confirmed bachelors who've cohabitated their
01:00 entire lives have liberal social ethics? Shocker!"
01:04 "We're brothers!"
01:04 "Cousins!"
01:05 "Get your story straight, fellas."
01:07 Walt Disney actually ends up being the voice of reason by preaching against their closed-mindedness.
01:12 While that's great, it's also interesting considering Disney's own alleged racism,
01:17 a fact that Uncle Remus' inclusion pokes fun at.
01:20 What we do know for sure is that love is love, and Mickey Mouse is a jerk here.
01:25 Number 29, New Corporate Overlords, The Simpsons.
01:29 If you can't beat 'em, buy 'em.
01:31 "I, for one, salute our new corporate overlords!"
01:34 That seems to have been Disney's plan with several major media franchises.
01:37 It's not something that was lost on the team behind The Simpsons when Disney bought their
01:40 parent company Fox and then made everyone's favorite dysfunctional cartoon family a
01:45 centerpiece of the Disney+ promotional campaign.
01:47 "I don't wanna, I'm not gonna, you can't make me."
01:50 "Put on the ears, boy!"
01:52 "Pfft, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh."
01:55 In an ad, Homer praises their new corporate overlords as he and his unimpressed family
02:00 are surrounded by statues of then-Disney chairman Bob Iger and Darth Vader.
02:04 He insists his family praise their new bosses, even when Dumbo falls from the sky and crushes him.
02:10 "What the?"
02:12 Now that's some brand loyalty.
02:15 Number 28, The Not-So-Wonderful World of Wesley, My Life as a Teenage Robot.
02:21 In an episode from My Life as a Teenage Robot,
02:24 Jenny and the gang visit the famous amusement park known as Wesley World.
02:28 "Wesley World, the happiest place within 20 minutes of Trimerton."
02:32 It offers all kinds of rides and a boatload of fun.
02:35 Unfortunately, it's not a fun time for everyone.
02:38 When this clear Walt Disney World parody is introduced,
02:41 the robot employees are shown to be treated very poorly.
02:44 They might be machines, but that's no excuse for the cruelty they face.
02:48 "Come on, Jenny, it's all in good fun."
02:50 "Yeah, fun for the humans.
02:53 How'd you like to sing some stupid song over and over all day long?"
02:57 This situation repulses Jenny, and it could probably be seen as an allegory for the conditions
03:04 workers at Disney's amusement parks have reportedly faced.
03:07 Let's just say a lot of employees haven't had a magical time working for the media conglomerate.
03:12 Number 27, Disgruntled Mickey, Rocko's Modern Life.
03:17 During the episode "Rocko's Happy Sack," Rocko goes about his business shopping at a grocery store.
03:22 "Everything looks so good when you're hungry, eh Spunky?
03:24 Mmm, sweet and sour bloated ticks."
03:29 While he does, viewers briefly get a glimpse of another shopper by the frozen aisle.
03:33 This rodent quickly complains about how the store's out of their favorite ice cream before walking off.
03:38 "They never had my flavor.
03:40 Been a long time since I had me a big bowl of head cheese and berries."
03:44 The rude rodent is a parody of Mickey Mouse, but unlike his Disney counterpart,
03:48 he's not so pleasant to be around.
03:50 You can just tell by his pissed off expression that he's a lot less cheery and a lot more bitter.
03:56 We can't blame him for being upset about the store being out of his favorite ice cream,
03:59 but could he have at least closed the door like a proper gentleman?
04:03 Or maybe it's Gentle Mouse?
04:05 Number 26, Hieronymus Glove is Walt Disney, SpongeBob SquarePants.
04:11 While visiting Glove World, a place that also happens to be a pretty clear Disney park spoof,
04:17 SpongeBob and Patrick meet its founder, the illustrious Hieronymus Glove.
04:21 "Oh Mr. Glove, Mr. Glove, oh, I'm your biggest fan.
04:24 I've been on all your rides, ask anyone.
04:27 I'm here every weekend.
04:28 I'm throwing up!"
04:30 Even if you're not a Disney expert, you'd probably recognize that Hieronymus is a parody of Walt Disney,
04:36 with all the details perfectly lining up.
04:38 That includes the way the SpongeBob character looks, the way he acts, and so much more.
04:44 "The real Hieronymus Glove has been frozen in ice for decades now!"
04:47 The show goes so far as to poke fun at the wild theory that Walt wanted to be cryogenically frozen.
04:54 It looks like not even the depths of the ocean are free from Disney parodies.
04:59 Number 25, Witches of Rodeo Drive, Big Time Rush.
05:04 Remember Disney Channel's Wizards of Waverly Place?
05:07 You probably do, but do you know about Witches of Rodeo Drive?
05:10 Probably not.
05:12 It's a spoof Nickelodeon's Big Time Rush made of their competitor network's aforementioned show.
05:16 "We nailed this audition, James.
05:18 We're both going to be on Witches of Rodeo Drive.
05:21 We'll be a team!"
05:23 We first learn about it when James and Camille audition.
05:26 While we don't have all the details regarding Rodeo Drive,
05:30 it seems like it features the zaniness of Wizards dialed up to 11.
05:34 "Once I curse Chad with the zit of Grimblezor, then I shall be homecoming warlock.
05:39 Laughs evilly.
05:42 Oh, uh...
05:44 This may be a parody, but it feels more like a light-hearted dig than a mean-spirited insult.
05:52 Still, we wonder what the ratings war would have looked like if Rodeo Drive had existed.
05:56 Number 24, A Place Disney Supported, Family Guy.
06:00 Family Guy clearly has no problem bringing up Walt Disney's rumored anti-Semitism.
06:05 While this usually happens as one joke in a larger segment,
06:08 this cutaway gag bluntly gets right to the point.
06:10 "Why should I trust you?
06:11 You're always tricking me into going places I don't wanna."
06:14 It starts with Peter telling Lois that she always tricks him into going places he doesn't wanna go.
06:18 "You said we were going to a place Walt Disney built."
06:21 "No, Peter, I said supported."
06:23 Cut to the couple standing outside Auschwitz with Peter dressed for Disneyland.
06:27 Lois then says that the infamous place was not a place Disney built,
06:31 where Peter thought he was going, but rather one Disney supported.
06:34 "By the way, don't go on the train ride."
06:39 Number 23, The Dingo Channel Steals iCarly's Jokes, iCarly.
06:44 Plagiarism in any industry is considered a very serious offense.
06:49 So when the gang in iCarly suspects The Dingo Channel is stealing their bits,
06:53 they decide to take action.
06:54 "Those Dingo people are dead."
06:55 "What are we gonna do?"
06:56 "We're gonna go find them and kick them in their dingoes."
06:58 Instead of trying to fight the giant TV channel through the court of law, though,
07:01 they pay a visit to Dingo Studios.
07:04 Besides the obvious spoof of Disney Channel,
07:06 the episode also includes Spencer and Freddy finding the frozen head of founder Charles Dingo.
07:11 "What's he got there?"
07:13 "Oh, you know, just the, uh…"
07:14 "Frozen head of Charles Dingo."
07:17 "Hey, no one's supposed to know about the head."
07:22 It shouldn't take you too long to guess who that's a reference to.
07:25 The gang later uses this as a way to ensure their work is no longer taken.
07:29 That's definitely one way to keep writers on the straight and narrow.
07:32 It's no secret that Disney is very protective of its property.
07:40 If your product invites too much comparison to the Disney brand,
07:43 a lawsuit is likely on the horizon.
07:46 So when Principal Skinner uses the slogan "The Happiest Place on Earth" for the school carnival,
07:50 Disneyland threatens to sue Springfield Elementary.
07:53 "Happiest Place on Earth is a registered Disneyland copyright."
07:57 "Well, gentlemen, it's just a small school carnival."
08:00 "And it's heading for a great big lawsuit."
08:02 What Disney's lawyers don't realize is that Skinner was a Green Beret in the United States Army.
08:07 Before a legal battle can ensue, Skinner commences a literal battle that leaves the lawyer and one of
08:12 his bodyguards whimpering on the ground. Another Disney minion attempts to get away,
08:16 but Skinner sends him packing with a mouse-eared briefcase.
08:19 "Copyright expired."
08:22 Of course, now that Disney owns the Simpsons, we shouldn't expect any more copyright wars.
08:27 Writing an article on teenage girls, Brian tries to spy on Meg from a ladder outside her room.
08:36 But Stewie warns him not to fall.
08:39 "Brian, what are you doing up there?"
08:40 "Shh, I'm writing an article on teenage girls for a magazine. I'm studying Meg to see what
08:44 goes on during her day."
08:45 "Well, be careful you don't fall off that ladder. Not all dogs go to heaven."
08:49 Leaving nothing to the imagination, a cutaway reveals that famed Disney dog Goofy is in hell.
08:54 "So, says here you're involved in the plotting of September 11th?"
08:58 Apparently, he was involved in the September 2001 tragedy,
09:01 and Goofy confesses to it in his familiar Southern drawl.
09:05 "Yuck, yuck, yuck, gosh!"
09:08 He doesn't stop there with his hateful remarks,
09:10 soon adding more fuel to the rumors that Walt Disney was anti-Semitic.
09:14 The real kicker, though, is when Goofy does his characteristic holler
09:17 as he's pushed into the eternal pit of fire.
09:20 "Okay, into the eternal pit of fire you go."
09:22 20. Disney Channel Acting School - Saturday Night Live
09:29 Not sure if you've got what it takes to land a role on one of Disney Channel's many sitcoms?
09:34 Don't worry, Miley Cyrus and the SNL cast have got your back.
09:38 "Disney Channel acting is its own art form. And to master it,
09:41 you're gonna need a special set of tools."
09:44 In this sketch, the Hannah Montana star tries to help the next generation of aspiring actors,
09:48 but her advice's usefulness might be questionable.
09:52 She points out an extensive amount of tropes, like loudness,
09:55 that are common in these shows to fantastic comedic effect.
09:58 "Every person has to be the loudest person in the room. Watch."
10:02 "What's wrong, Jamantha?"
10:05 "If I don't get an A on my science project, I can't go boogie boarding with Teddin."
10:09 "Well then you should trick Thomas into trading projects with you!"
10:13 "Good idea!"
10:14 Did we mention that Kenan Thompson stars as Raven Simone alongside her,
10:19 taking the parody to the next level? Disney Channel has had many great programs,
10:23 but as the satirical sketch brilliantly points out, they can also be pretty formulaic.
10:29 19. Most Disney Moms Are Dead - Robot Chicken
10:33 This sketch is quick to point out an unfortunate trend in animated Disney films,
10:38 and that's how so many of the mothers in them have passed on.
10:42 The segment shows multiple characters at the cemetery visiting their late moms.
10:46 "Wow, Mom! Do you have any sage advice for me?"
10:50 "Yes, my son. The rampant deer population is a real problem."
10:55 It leads to some pretty interesting scenarios.
10:58 Let's just say we didn't expect such morbid words from the ghost of Bambi's mom.
11:02 And Mickey Mouse venting about his less-than-kind mother is something you have to see to believe.
11:07 "Mickey, do you miss your mama too?"
11:09 "No, she ate all my brothers and sisters. Mice are monsters!"
11:14 After a certain point, you really have to wonder if Disney has it out for moms.
11:18 Alright, probably not, but it's weird how regularly they die off.
11:22 So we get where Robot Chicken is coming from here.
11:24 18. Disneyland - Mad TV
11:28 Working in the Magic Kingdom or any Disney park may not be the easiest job in the world,
11:33 but this Mad TV segment takes things to a whole new level.
11:36 "Okay, listen, I'm not supposed to tell you this, but, uh,
11:38 alright, there's 11 Mickeys in the park, and the next one is scheduled to-"
11:44 "Oh my God, this woman's been shot!"
11:47 A tour guide is shot by a sniper for almost revealing the existence of
11:51 more than one Mickey Mouse to a park guest, and is replaced by a robot.
11:55 "I'm happy! Disneyland is the happiest place on Earth!"
11:58 "But, I, you were shot in the head, I saw that."
12:02 Then, a performer dressed as one of the chipmunks meets a similar fate when he
12:06 tells the same worried guest about a secret city and Disney's nuclear capabilities.
12:09 "There's a secret city! Reanimating dead bodies! They have nuclear capabilities!"
12:17 Tweedledum, Tweedledee, and a marching band cover up these murders,
12:20 as well as Walt Disney's frozen head, which floats around the park.
12:24 17. Mini Models - Family Guy
12:28 There are many problematic elements of Walt Disney's legacy, some rumored and some proven,
12:33 but the studio founder running a sketchy casting couch is not one of them.
12:37 At least, not as far as we can tell.
12:38 "Peter, creating art takes a lot of training and technique,
12:41 and all the great artists I knew took classes."
12:43 "Even Walt Disney?"
12:44 That didn't stop Seth MacFarlane from using Disney in an early season cutaway gag
12:48 to make a joke about male Hollywood executives exploiting female talent.
12:52 "Do I have to?"
12:54 "You wanna be a star, don't you? Then take it off!"
12:57 After Brian tells Peter that all the great artists he knows took classes,
13:01 we cut to Minnie Mouse asking Disney if she really has to undress.
13:05 And he says she does if she wants to be a star.
13:07 She obliges, and he proceeds to get excited as he draws her.
13:11 16. A Cheesy Disneyland Parody - The Loud House
13:16 If you have any plans for the weekend, then those plans better
13:20 "mooooove" along because we're going to Dairyland!
13:22 This amusement park is a beloved site for the Loud family,
13:25 who have visited it in multiple episodes.
13:28 "We're going to Dairyland!"
13:31 "Well, I've learned two very valuable lessons.
13:34 One, you should never try to turn someone into something they're not.
13:38 And two, if you ever ride the milkshaker, keep your mouth closed."
13:42 It definitely bears a resemblance to Disneyland.
13:45 It even has its own version of the It's a Small World ride,
13:49 except the Dairyland one is quite the cheesy caricature.
13:52 No, literally, there's a sea of melted cheese in everything.
13:56 "Isn't C's O' Cheese great?"
13:58 "Dairy binds the world together, dairy binds us all."
14:03 "Ugh, Lynn, this is lame."
14:05 "Shh, we're about to hit Switzerland."
14:08 Yeah, you could argue that shows are starting to really milk the whole spoofing Disneyland thing.
14:12 But hey, if it works, it works.
14:15 15. It's a Tiny World - Family Guy
14:19 In order to bond with Stewie, Peter does the one thing guaranteed to get a child's approval.
14:24 He takes him to Disney World.
14:26 "We just sat on a plane for three hours to come to Florida, God's waiting room, for who knows what..."
14:31 "Oh, Disney World, Disney World, Disney World, I wanna go to Disney World!"
14:37 And naturally, Stewie's over the moon about it.
14:40 This gives the show's writers ample opportunity to make fun of Disney as much as possible.
14:44 The least subtle of these jabs occurs when Stewie is separated from Peter
14:48 and gets discovered by two security guards.
14:50 "Well, well, a lost child."
14:52 "Looks like we've got a new recruit."
14:55 Promptly kidnapped and chained up with other lost children,
14:57 Stewie is forced to sing "It's a Tiny World" as part of a ride,
15:01 playing off Disney's real ride, "It's a Small World".
15:04 "Now sing!"
15:07 "I shall do no such thing!"
15:08 "You must sing! If you don't, they'll make you do a Christmas movie with Tim Allen!"
15:14 "It's a tiny, tiny world!"
15:17 14. Epcot Center - The Simpsons
15:20 Let's be honest, if you're gonna visit a Florida theme park,
15:23 Epcot probably isn't top of the list.
15:25 The Simpsons' Epcot Center does little to distinguish itself from Epcot,
15:29 with its signature structure being a large geodesic sphere.
15:33 Homer is bored from the second they fly over the park,
15:35 which is advertised as the place you go when everything else is booked.
15:38 The park's vision of the future apparently hasn't been updated since the late 60s,
15:43 and it really shows.
15:44 "The world of tomorrow. Don't walk, fly in your personal Eastern Airlines air buggy."
15:53 Eventually, Homer decides to make a break for Disney World,
15:56 although he is horrified to learn that the churros are $14.
15:59 As many jabs as the episode takes at Epcot,
16:09 the writers have to admit that Disney parks do have some incredible restaurants.
16:13 13. Mickey Mistreatment - South Park
16:17 In the world of South Park, Mickey Mouse isn't just a mascot for Disney, he is the boss.
16:22 And when an employee steps out of line, he is not above getting personally involved.
16:26 In this episode, someone has been bad-mouthing the Chinese government.
16:44 To get to the bottom of it, Mickey rallies all Disney characters
16:47 and interrogates them to try to find out who the traitor is.
16:50 "Prisoners."
16:51 "You are a fat diabetic bear, and if the Chinese don't want you, then I don't either!"
16:57 And it's pretty full-on,
16:58 playing on the perception that Disney is super strict with its stars.
17:02 The writers also throw in a dig at Mickey being unsure whether his company owns South Park.
17:06 You know, 'cause Disney owns everything.
17:08 "I don't know you. Are you from Pixar?"
17:10 "No, I'm from South Park."
17:11 "What's South Park? Do I own that?"
17:13 "No, not yet, sir."
17:15 12. Itchy the Lucky Mouse - The Simpsons
17:18 We all know who Walt Disney is,
17:20 but fewer people are familiar with Mickey's co-creator Ub Iwerks.
17:23 "That's the first Itchy cartoon ever made."
17:26 "And it was made by me, Chester J. Lampwee."
17:29 In this episode, it's revealed that Roger Myers stole the character Itchy
17:32 from another animator in 1928, the same year Mickey made his debut.
17:37 This doesn't exactly parallel Disney and Iwerks' partnership,
17:40 as both played a hand in creating Mickey.
17:41 But that being said, there's no denying that the public associates Mickey
17:45 more with Disney than Iwerks.
17:47 "Okay, maybe my dad did steal Itchy, but so what?
17:51 Animation is built on plagiarism!"
17:54 Roger Myers is clearly meant to be a Walt Disney parody,
17:57 right down to a line about him being cryogenically frozen.
17:59 "I lost everything. I can't even keep my dad's head
18:03 in the freaking cryogenic center anymore."
18:05 Of course, this episode could also be seen as a shot at Charles Mintz,
18:10 a distributor who took control of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit
18:13 away from his creators, Disney and Iwerks.
18:16 Number 11. Evil Mickey Mouse - Drawn Together
18:20 Some send-ups are bound to portray Disney in a negative light,
18:23 but having Mickey Mouse essentially be a stone-cold killer is definitely subversive.
18:28 In the Drawn Together episode titled "Terms of Endearment,"
18:31 Foxy becomes a controversial character after getting radiation poisoning.
18:35 She morphs into an offensive stereotype.
18:38 So the KFCC steps in.
18:40 "Help me! Help me, please! I'm free!
18:43 Ain't you done heard of the immense opossum locomotion?
18:46 Ah!"
18:47 It's a pretty wild premise.
18:48 But what makes it so much weirder is that Mickey Mouse is later revealed
18:52 to be the mastermind who's hell-bent on eradicating all problematic cartoon figures.
18:57 "You kids thought you could stop me? No one can stop me!
19:00 Soon I will eradicate every offensive cartoon in the universe
19:04 until it's the happiest place on Earth!"
19:06 He's even covered in shadows every time he shows up,
19:09 so you know he's one seriously rotten apple.
19:12 That's right, Mickey wants to create the happiest place on Earth
19:15 through any means possible.
19:17 10. Hotstar Censorship
19:20 Last Week Tonight with John Oliver
19:22 When John Oliver's fans let him know that Hotstar,
19:24 the streaming service that carries his show in India,
19:27 failed to upload an episode where he criticized the country's government,
19:30 Oliver and his staff did some digging.
19:32 "Can we actually count on you, Mickey?
19:34 It's 1980, you're in a tuxedo in the middle of the day,
19:37 and your pupils are the size of personal pan pizzas."
19:40 They found out that Hotstar had, in fact,
19:42 also been censoring jokes about Disney, its parent company.
19:45 "The joke they cut out of that was about Donald Duck
19:48 and how his penis, this is true, is shaped like a corkscrew.
19:50 And that's not even a joke, by the way.
19:52 All ducks have corkscrew-shaped dicks."
19:55 They took references to 1980s Mickey Mouse having a substance use problem
20:00 and to what should be Donald Duck's correct anatomy out of the show.
20:04 "Everything that comes out of this beef is a Disney fact."
20:08 Oliver not only mocked Hotstar's jarring editing technique,
20:11 but also brought up the fact that he played Zazu in the Lion King remake,
20:15 meaning that no matter how offensive, everything he said was a Disney fact.
20:19 A not-so-subtle imitation of various Disney parks,
20:26 Disneyland is briefly seen in season two.
20:29 The amusement park resurfaces in season 26,
20:32 and this time the writers come off as much more cynical,
20:34 describing it as the happiest hell on earth.
20:37 A lengthy car trip is followed by an even more tedious journey
20:40 simply to enter the park.
20:42 "Look! I see land!"
20:44 Once inside, the Simpsons end up bleeding their wallets dry
20:50 and sitting through repetitive rides.
20:52 "I just want to sit down, but the line for the bench is too long."
20:55 The episode also draws attention to Disney's acquisition of Star Wars
20:59 and the overhaul to make Pirates of the Caribbean more politically correct.
21:03 "They revamped this ride because of massive complaints from two people."
21:09 "No means no. We know now."
21:12 A Springfield-themed area is currently located at Universal Studios,
21:16 but it'll be beyond ironic if Simpsons attractions start popping up
21:20 in Disneyland later down the line.
21:21 If you're gonna accuse most Disney movies of being formulaic cash grabs,
21:30 why not do it with a parody of a typical Disney princess song?
21:33 "You feel like this is deja vu, a girl who thinks that she wants more,
21:37 the music starts, you find that you are humming."
21:40 That's what 90s cartoon series Animaniacs did
21:43 during the height of the Disney Renaissance.
21:45 "Just a rerun heroine."
21:46 The number visually references The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast,
21:50 and Aladdin, and even name-checks Pocahontas.
21:54 Which, the larger segment the song appears in is parodying
21:57 by having the film's name appear on money.
21:59 "With the same old heroine."
22:01 The song even asks, in the voice of a Disney exec,
22:05 "We have got your seven bucks, why should we try something new?"
22:08 "A formula that's called entertainment."
22:13 "Just a retry."
22:14 For this entry, we are back with Mickey Mouse
22:27 and his totalitarian way of running Disney,
22:29 at least within the world of South Park.
22:31 Harkening back to when boy band the Jonas Brothers wore purity rings,
22:34 the episode suggests that Mickey Mouse made the boys wear them
22:38 in a sneaky plot to sell sex to young audiences.
22:40 And when the band refuses to play along,
22:43 he beats one of them violently.
22:45 We've already mentioned how South Park likes to play
22:48 on the apparent ruthlessness of Disney and its treatment of its stars,
22:51 but this scene is particularly hard-hitting.
22:54 And that laugh Mickey keeps doing, oh man.
22:56 "All right now, get out there and make me some goddamn money."
23:03 "We're now approaching our final destination, Itchy and Scratchy Land."
23:06 "The amusement park of the future, where nothing can possibly go wrong."
23:09 A vacation to Itchy and Scratchy Land invites numerous possibilities for parodies,
23:14 including a documentary about fictional founder Roger Myers Sr.
23:17 The documentary depicts Myers as a seemingly wholesome figure
23:20 who actually had a few skeletons in his closet.
23:23 Just as Walt Disney has been accused by some of being anti-Semitic,
23:26 Myers landed in hot water for a controversial cartoon.
23:29 "Roger Myers Sr., the gentle genius behind Itchy and Scratchy,
23:34 loved and cared about almost all the peoples of the world.
23:37 And he in return was beloved by the world,
23:40 except in 1938 when he was criticized for his controversial cartoon."
23:45 Myers' filmography also includes an ultra-violent version
23:48 of 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' entitled 'Scratchtasia.'
23:56 His follow-up feature is a Pinocchio parody called 'Pinichio,'
24:00 which is perhaps even more shocking than the original novel by Carlo Collodi.
24:03 "You be good, Pinichio, and don't you lie."
24:08 "I promise I will never hurt you."
24:11 "Ouch!"
24:12 A manic Scratchy robot destroys the screen before the documentary's conclusion,
24:16 but we can't help but wonder if Itchy and Scratchy ever got the Bambi treatment.
24:24 "Sleeping Beauty 3, Lil' Sleepy Meets Aladdin,
24:27 Hunchback 6, Air Dog Quasi, Mulan 8, The Prozoids Fight Back."
24:31 In this TV Funhouse animated sequence from Saturday Night Live,
24:35 a couple of kids hear about the Disney Vault and wish they could live there,
24:38 and Mickey Mouse tells them they can.
24:39 "Now on DVD only, it's Journey to the Disney Vault."
24:45 With a setup like that, you might think the skit would be a bunch of jokes
24:48 about Disney-directed DVD sequels, and while there are plenty of those,
24:52 "What's in here?"
24:53 "Oh, you don't need to see that."
24:54 the kids soon discover that the Vault also contains Walt Disney's Frozen Head,
25:01 records of Disney's testimony to the House Un-American Activities Committee
25:04 outing cartoonists as communist,
25:06 and an ultra-racist version of Song of the South,
25:09 a film already controversial in reality.
25:11 "Song of the South?"
25:12 "Oh, nobody wants to see that one anymore."
25:14 "How bad could it be?"
25:17 "It's the very original version that he only played at parties."
25:21 Plus, there's Jim Henson, who wouldn't sell, and Scar, the Disney lawyer.
25:26 "You children know too much. You must stay in the Disney Vault forever."
25:31 "Noooo!"
25:32 Number 4. Five Old Mouskowitz, Family Guy.
25:35 Fed up with Peter's shenanigans,
25:37 Lois hires a nanny named Natalia to help raise the kids.
25:40 "You need help, Lois, and since I don't believe in psychiatry, I'm getting you a nanny."
25:46 "Well, I guess it would be good to have some help with Meg and Chris,
25:49 and Stewie if he's ever found."
25:50 Tough, brawny, and stereotypically Eastern European,
25:53 Natalia turns out to be a Belarusian assassin.
25:56 When confronted by Stewie, Natalia claims to be doing her job in pursuit of Russian
26:00 expatriate Five Old Mouskowitz, the protagonist from Don Bluth's An American Tale.
26:05 "Okay, Natalia, level with me. Why are you really here?"
26:08 "I have been sent to neutralize liberal Jewish dissident Five Old Mouskowitz."
26:12 "Oh, well, the only mouse in this neighborhood is our innocent neighbor, Frank Maxwell."
26:19 Mouskowitz appears, claiming to be named Frank Maxwell, and nervously gets into his car,
26:24 which then explodes, though Natalia denies responsibility.
26:27 "Comrade Mouskowitz, did you think you could run forever?"
26:32 "Hiya, I think you've got the wrong mouse.
26:35 I'm just regular old Frank Maxwell, and I'm very late for work. Good day, ma'am."
26:41 Well, who should be lurking around the corner but Mickey Mouse,
26:46 who sarcastically laments the mouse's bad luck, playing on Walt Disney's rumored bigotry,
26:52 and the fact that Bluth once worked for Disney?
26:54 And you thought we were done with Mickey Mouse mercilessness. Of course not.
27:02 When Mickey blames Winnie the Pooh for jeopardizing a deal with China,
27:13 Randy is sent to take Pooh out. The brutal scene consists of Randy luring Pooh down an
27:18 alley with some honey, and then graphically attacking him.
27:21 Again, this is another moment targeting the lengths to which Disney allegedly goes in
27:32 order to keep business running as usual.
27:34 "It's not worth living in a world where China controls my country's art."
27:37 But why did it have to be Pooh? South Park has never shied away from shocking imagery,
27:47 but this really pushed the envelope.
27:49 When the late Bleeding Gums Murphy appears to Lisa in the sky,
27:56 it's hard not to think about Mufasa's heavenly message to Simba.
27:59 "That one's for you, Bleeding Gums."
28:03 "You've made an old jazz man happy, Lisa."
28:06 "You must avenge my death, Kimba. I mean, Simba."
28:11 Actually, Mufasa appears alongside Bleeding Gums with Darth Vader and James Earl Jones.
28:16 While the Lion King lampoon is evident, there's another joke that might have flown over your head.
28:20 Mufasa accidentally says "Kimba" instead of "Simba." Animation fans will know that this is
28:25 a reference to Kimba the White Lion, an anime series from the 60s that shares an astonishing
28:30 amount in common with the Disney film.
28:31 "Kimba! Kimba! Kimba! Kimba! Kimba! Kimba!"
28:38 Lion King directors Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff claim they had no knowledge of the anime while
28:43 making their film, but this moment seems to be suggesting that somebody at Disney was familiar
28:47 with it.
28:48 "Be a boy and you can call it Kimba. Kimba, son of Caesar."

29:10 1. Brian and Stewie Visit the Disney Universe - Family Guy
29:15 This classic episode features Brian and Stewie visiting alternate universes.
29:20 The multiverse-hopping duo soon finds a Disney universe and are quickly won over,
29:25 and it's not hard to see why.
29:26 "What the hell? What's happened to us?"
29:28 "I don't know, but suddenly I feel all sweet and warm and fuzzy.
29:32 It seems we're in a universe where everything is drawn by Disney."
29:35 With a sickly sweet atmosphere, talking animals and objects, gorgeous animation,
29:40 and a show-stopping musical number about pie,
29:42 this universe embodies nearly everything we love about Disney animations.
29:45 "It's a wonderful day for pie. You can ask all the birds in the sky."
29:52 However, Family Guy yet again brings up the racism rumors when everyone
29:56 instantly turns on Mort Goldman, which prompts Brian and Stewie to move on.
30:01 If it weren't for that disturbing bit, we'd love a whole episode in this style.
30:05 "Oh, but look how shiny my buttons are here."
30:07 Is there a piece of sweet satire we missed? Let us know in the comments.
30:11 [Singing]
30:11 "Under the sea, under the sea, there'll be no accusations,
30:19 just friendly crustaceans under the sea."
