00:00 Hi, I'm Jordan and I work here at Brewhouse and Kitchen in Southsea.
00:04 Today we're celebrating International Women's Day and celebrating all the local women of Southsea
00:11 and the original brewers who would have been women.
00:14 So tell me what the women have come down here to do.
00:19 So today we're brewing a Session IPA which is one of our core beers.
00:23 The beer that the women are brewing today is actually going to be sold on the bar
00:28 and 10p from every pint is going to be going to Breast Cancer Research.
00:32 And what's the reaction been like?
00:34 We've had a really good turnout. We've got about 45 local women which is amazing to see.
00:40 So it's going to be a really fun, kind of empowering, slightly educational but overall kind of a fun day for everyone.
00:49 Fabulous. And tell me why it's important to honour this day as International Women's Day.
00:55 I think it's really important for us as a business to honour International Women's Day
01:01 because a lot of our customers are women. I think more women than ever drink beer.
01:06 And like I said, the original brewers were women.
01:09 So it's really important for us to get local women involved and kind of build that sense of community.
01:15 And have people been getting involved today in terms of brewing their own?
01:20 Absolutely. So we've been brewing from 10 till 5. Like I said, 45 women from the local area have turned up.
01:28 Everyone's getting stuck in which is amazing to see. And yeah, having a wonderful day.
