00:00 Winter has worked its way on through
00:02 it continuing to hang on rather as
00:04 the snow has been falling today
00:07 across so many locations like
00:09 upstate New York and parts of
00:11 Pennsylvania there and the storm
00:13 will continue to bring accumulating
00:15 snow in the northern Plains
00:16 tonight and into tomorrow.
00:18 So a lot to talk about as we work
00:21 our way all around the northern
00:23 tier of the nation.
00:24 It has been some very intense
00:26 snow in some areas as we've moved
00:29 through the past couple of hours,
00:31 so we're continuing to find that.
00:32 In a few spots,
00:33 especially east of the Great Lakes,
00:35 that's where we've had the most
00:37 snowfall at this point in time,
00:38 and just to show you some of those snowy views.
00:41 How about we take you into Cain,
00:43 Pennsylvania?
00:44 Here it is snow on the side and all around.
00:47 Stop there at the light with the streets.
00:49 A little bit wet as you can tell
00:51 that's from the view from Cain.
00:53 Thankfully not much accumulation
00:54 sticking to the ground there,
00:56 but just keep in mind that there
00:58 could be some icy spots as we
01:00 continue to try to drop those
01:02 numbers through the rest of the night.
01:04 There's plenty of cold air working
01:06 its way on in radar scan showing
01:08 us those showers, those snow showers,
01:10 still streaming their way on East
01:11 and and some locations like you
01:13 can see with this warning we're
01:15 dealing with snow squall warnings,
01:17 so we do have some very intense
01:19 snow coming down in a couple of
01:21 spots and that has led to some
01:23 notable accumulations.
01:24 We've got that on the board.
01:26 Especially as you work your way
01:28 outside off the edge of Lake on
01:30 Lake Erie in Lake Ontario,
01:31 7 plus inches of snow there in a few spots.
01:35 We also have more of that snow
01:37 piling up as you can see through
01:39 some of upstate New York and inch
01:41 and a half there and a 6 1/2 inches.
01:44 So half a foot of snowfall in a few
01:46 locations as we talk about this
01:48 continuing to work its way on through.
01:50 So what happens with those snow
01:52 showers next couple of hours as
01:54 this cold air continues to pull
01:56 and continues to punch its way on in?
01:58 We do get a little bit of banding
02:00 coming in off the Great Lakes,
02:02 but most of the snow lifts
02:03 into the state of Maine,
02:05 so that's where we'll be dealing
02:06 with the most intense snowfall.
02:08 As a storm departs temperatures,
02:09 they continue to topple 27 right now.
02:11 Buffalo 34 in Chicago,
02:12 29 in Minneapolis and 24 in Fargo.
02:14 As we head through tonight,
02:16 you can see more of that snow
02:18 continuing Burlington going down to 2222.
02:20 In Pittsburgh and 23 in Buffalo
02:21 with those snow showers continuing
02:23 where accumulations were at.
02:24 You with a real feel values with those
02:27 strong winds that we've had out there.
02:29 They dip down into the single digits,
02:31 if not teens in a few locations,
02:33 so it's certainly going to feel quite cold.
02:35 If you locations even the single digits
02:37 below zero once you get into the
02:40 higher elevations of the Northeast.
02:41 The afternoon we rebound a bit.
02:43 You'll find that in Buffalo snow
02:45 showers temperatures in the lower 30s.
02:47 We make it to the mid 40s in New York City,
02:50 but look at this off towards the West 37.
02:53 The high in Minneapolis with snow coming in.
02:55 There's a whole new storm system on the board,
02:58 and this one is going to create that snow
03:01 for places like Minneapolis that haven't
03:03 seen much of it this winter 3 to 6 inches.
03:06 There's that 6 to 12 inch band as you
03:08 work your way between Madison and
03:10 Janesville in Southern Wisconsin.
03:12 So watching the storm unfold takes
03:13 some time to organize and it does so
03:16 tomorrow throughout the day into tomorrow night.
03:18 That's when we'll be dealing with that snow,
03:20 then sliding into the Northeast
03:22 and ultimately it'll push into
03:23 the Northeast for Saturday.
03:25 So the weekend will be talking about
03:26 more of that snow as it departs Friday.
03:29 It pushes in with rain and just to
03:31 show you some of those snowfall totals.
03:33 Friday night into Saturday night.
03:35 So this is a Saturday event.
03:36 It'll have some impacts on the state of
03:39 Maine as far as the heaviest snowfall.
