Factory operator, wireman charged with trafficking over 50kg of meth

Two local men have been charged in the Kuala Kangsar Magistrate's Court with trafficking 51.5kg of drugs.

00:00 Two men have been charged in the Kuala Kansar Magistrates' Court with drug trafficking.
00:07 33-year-old factory operator Mohamed Fayez Abdul Halim and 31-year-old wireman Shahrul
00:14 Ijhar Tahirul Anwar were brought to court on Friday to face their charges.
00:19 They were arrested by police during a special operation on March 16.
00:23 Some 51.5 kilos of methamphetamine were found in a car they were in, in front of a shop
00:29 in Bougainvillea, Uttama.
00:30 No plea was recorded and the court did not allow any bail for the duo.
00:35 The charge is framed under the Dangerous Drugs Act and when read with the penal code, provides
00:40 for the death penalty or life imprisonment with no fewer than 12 strokes of the cane
00:46 upon conviction.
