00:35 Miss Universe 2022 Arbani Gabriel is back in town!
00:39 But this time, she will stay in the Philippines for a long time!
00:43 You know, this is my first time coming for a longer period of time,
00:47 and post Miss Universe 2.
00:49 Like I said earlier, I have been wanting to live here.
00:51 For me, there's so much for me to learn.
00:53 I need to learn Tagalog.
00:55 Because growing up as a Filipino-American,
00:57 I feel like there's almost like an identity I need to learn more about being Filipino.
01:02 [music]
01:05 Arbani's recent posts were talked about,
01:08 like her inspiring workout videos,
01:11 and her cooking of Filipino food.
01:15 I like to cook. I enjoy it too.
01:18 So I want to learn recipes.
01:19 For me, I just want to learn as much as I can.
01:21 You're willing to learn to cook Filipino dishes?
01:25 Yeah, I love to cook. It's so rewarding when you make something.
01:28 So it is fun, yeah.
01:30 But people are making fun of me.
01:31 I made my own version of the ginita ang gulay.
01:33 They said, "Where's the shrimp?"
01:34 I didn't feel like peeling the shrimp. It's too much work.
01:37 [laughs]
01:38 They said, "Where's the kani?"
01:40 I said, "I'm on a diet."
01:41 [laughs]

01:43 Even though the USA is big,
01:45 there are a lot of Filipinos who are carried by Arbani.
01:49 There are a lot of Filipino quirks.
01:51 It's in our DNA.
01:56 Picking up things with our foot.
01:59 You do that?
02:00 I do.
02:01 No way.
02:02 Yes. I never knew that was a Filipino quirk.
02:06 I did it at home in Houston around my friends.
02:10 They just lost it.
02:11 They said, "What did you just do?"
02:13 I said, "What? I just picked something up."
02:15 They're like, "You did that with your foot."
02:17 I said, "What's the big deal? Y'all don't do that?"
02:20 And pointing things with your...
02:22 With your lips.
02:23 You do that?
02:24 [laughs]
02:25 There.
02:26 Over there.
02:27 [laughs]
02:29 She's still studying Tagalog,
02:31 but growing up, she picked up some Filipino words.
02:35 I always call my best friends, actually, "Pinsan."
02:38 We just, even though we call it "Ate," "Kuya," you know?
02:42 Like, what else?
02:44 I always remember, "Ay, nako!"
02:46 Always hear that one. Why?
02:47 "Ay, nako."
02:48 "Ay, nako."
02:50 Gosh.
02:51 Yes, I always hear that one.
02:52 Actually, my dad didn't speak too much Tagalog in the household.
02:56 I heard it mostly at the family gatherings.
02:59 Yes, with my titas, my titos, mostly.
03:02 And I said, "Dad, why didn't you teach me Tagalog?
03:04 It's so hard to learn now.
03:06 It's much harder when you're older."
03:08 "Ay, nako."
03:09 "Ay, nako."
03:10 But I'm still learning.

03:13 Arboni, Tecno!
03:14 Earlier this morning, Arboni was a guest on the Kapuso Variety Show, Tiktok Lock,
03:18 and reunited with her friend, Miss Universe Philippines 2020, Rabia Mateo,
03:23 whom she met for the first time when Rabia met and greeted her in Houston, Texas.
03:29 She was the first Miss Philippines that I met.
03:32 And so, I was looking up to girls like Rabia and trying to learn from them
03:36 and just really, you know, take pointers.
03:38 So, that was a very inspiring experience.
03:40 I remember they brought me on stage with Rabia and I was so shy.
03:44 I was like, "Oh my gosh, what am I going to say?"
03:46 I had stage fright.
03:47 In her few months of staying in the Philippines,
03:50 Arboni wants to surround herself with beautiful women in the country.
03:56 She will also pursue her advocacy on sustainable clothing.
04:00 Will she enter the entertainment industry?
04:04 Acting, I'm definitely very interested in.
04:07 I'm up for the challenge.
04:09 I recently just watched a movie with Ann Curtis-Smith,
04:12 and I thought that was really good.
04:14 Would love to work with her.
04:15 Oh, wow.
04:16 Yeah.
04:17 Are you looking at any genre that you want to explore?
04:22 You know, I love action and I just love rom-com.
04:26 I love rom-com so much.
