00:00Hey guys, happy Monday. Jordan Warren here from the Illawarra Mercury, joined by fellow
00:04sports journalist Agron Latifi. Agron, there was plenty of winter sport happening. We're
00:08putting away the budgie smugglers and the cricket bats. Winter sport is here. Where
00:11were you at at the weekend, mate? Obviously, the Dragons had a really good win to start
00:15off.
00:16Yeah, I was at the Dragons on Friday night. Massive win against the Warriors. But all
00:21the talk, obviously, was on Zach Lomax, who had a standout game and played centre. And
00:28his future, obviously, signed with Parramatta a few days earlier. But he was really good
00:32and so were the Dragons. And they've got a huge game coming up on Thursday, Anzac Day
00:36match against the Roosters. And yeah, they're going well at the moment.
00:40Yeah, that was a massive win for the Dragons. And yeah, a quick turnaround against the Chookies
00:43in that Anzac Day clash. And of course, there was local league, mate, Illawarra League.
00:47And there was also Group 7. You were at the Worilla game on Sunday. How did that one go?
00:52Oh yeah, Worilla, they had a disappointing 2023. But they looked good this year. I know
00:57it's only early. But they were really good against the Milton Aldala Bulldogs, who were
01:02very physical. And it was a physical game. But you know, Worilla did enough to get the
01:07win. And they're looking really good.
01:09You're also our Illawarra rugby expert. How did the rugby go on the weekend on Saturday?
01:14Yeah, it was very good. I was at the Ocean Park, Shamrocks against Kiama. Apart from
01:20Shoalhaven, who is everyone's team to beat again. They haven't won the title two years
01:26in a row. Kiama look really good. They could be serious challenges this year. They were
01:31just too good for, you know, a gallon, Shamrocks.
01:34Yeah, good signs for Kiama on the weekend. It's been a lean few years for them. But looking
01:38the goods in 2024. I was at the football over the weekend. Of course, a massive result for
01:43the Wollongong Wolves over Sydney FC on Sunday. Looked for all money that Sydney had stolen
01:48a point. But if not for a Bandarai Kanazumi late header to get the 3-2 win in front of
01:52the home fans. And of course, there was a massive result in the Illawarra Premier League.
01:56There was a 2-0 win for South Coast United over Powerhouses Wollongong Olympics. So a
02:00couple of massive results in the football there. Of course, if you want to catch up
