Transcript
00:00Hello Illawarra sports fans I'm Jordan Warren from the Illawarra Mercury
00:03sport team joined as always on a Friday by Agron Latifi. Agron the wet weather
00:07has been a bit rough this week hopefully we get some local games this week but
00:11we'll start with the Dragons of course they had a great win against the
00:14Dolphins last week. Zach Lomax should be back for the Roosters game on Sunday
00:17what do you what do you make of the game on Sunday? It's a big game it's a big
00:20game for both clubs but especially for the for the Dragons last time they played
00:23on Anzac Day it wasn't it wasn't it wasn't a good good day for the Dragons
00:27and obviously they've touched on that they'd like to not get revenge but they
00:31obviously like you know they'd like they'd like a win and it's an important
00:36for them to win coming up to after the Roosters they've got the Broncos and if
00:41they really you know they really need to keep in touch with that top 8 with a win.
00:45Yeah definitely an important period for the Dragons and then they've got the
00:48bye after that of course and then we've got the local footy like I said the rain
00:51hasn't been great this week but we're fingers crossed we've got Illawarra
00:54Rugby League and Group 7 I guess start with the Illawarra League mate and then
00:57move into Group 7 what are the highlights for this weekend? The
01:00highlight for Illawarra League on Saturday is Wes v Collies. Wes are coming off
01:05a loss but the win of tomorrow's game goes into second place so it's a big
01:11game. D-Los are the leaders and you know both teams want to keep pace with D-Los.
01:18Yeah of course. Sorry let's talk about Sunday's game with Group 7.
01:24Shell Harbour-Albion Park is probably the pick of the games as you covered the
01:28Albion Park game last week and they lost by one point for Adam Quinlan field
01:33goal right at the dying seconds so they'll be keen to bounce back but Shell
01:36Harbour you know they want 10 in a row so can anyone beat Shell Harbour that's the
01:41question. That's the massive question Albion Park will we going for a win
01:43after that one point loss to Nara Bombardieri last week of course. There's
01:47plenty of football action and a few of the Illawarra Premier League games will
01:50move to Ian McLennan Park of course the region's sole synthetic field so we've
01:53got Helensburg against Shell Harbour at 3 p.m. on Saturday and then we've got
01:58the late-night fixture the fixture was reversed we've got South Coast United
02:01against Coromel at the same venue at 7 o'clock on Saturday night so a couple of
02:05games that will definitely go ahead there's one at JJ Kelly Park a massive
02:08game not just one game a massive game between the first place Coniston and
02:11Wollongong Olympic if that game goes ahead that will be massive and of course
02:15we can't forget the Wolves they're there at home on Sunday at Wynn Stadium to
02:18Sydney Olympics so there's plenty of plenty of action this weekend mate and
02:21hopefully the weather gods are on our side but head to the Illawarra Mercury
02:24website for all the latest coverage over the weekend.
