00:00 Good morning it's Steffa at the Doncaster Free Press and it's Monday April 22nd. Just bringing
00:05 you some of our headlines today. First of all we have a piece, a police officer is due in court
00:12 today charged with common assault. This relates to an incident that happened last year where
00:19 apparently the officer carried out excessive force on a member of the public during an incident. So
00:28 he is appearing at Sheffield Magistrates Court this morning. I understand the charge is actually
00:35 common assault so we'll keep you posted on what happens there. Then another article,
00:41 political debate if you like. Our Mayor Ros Jones has accused MP Nick Fletcher of misleading the
00:51 public in the latest row between them both of a misinformation. It's to do with investment
00:57 and funding for the airport. That's an ongoing saga so you can read all about what's happened
01:04 there. Then there was also a story put out over the weekend. One of the neighbourhood policing teams
01:10 were called out and seized a couple of quad bikes being used by youths in the Kirk Sandal area.
01:18 They were causing anti-social behaviour. That's an ongoing problem the police are finding.
01:24 So you can read that also this morning. Visit our website www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk
01:32 and of course Facebook and Twitter X. Have a great Monday.
