00:03 Game number one of the Eastern Conference playoff series between these two.
00:07 We actually saw a line that increased from two and a half to three and
00:10 a half to four and a half by game time for the favorites, the New York Knicks.
00:13 And they do cover that point spread.
00:15 But if we're looking from a Philadelphia 76ers side of it,
00:18 Joel Embiid played 37 minutes, which included surviving a scare after a crazy
00:22 dunk, comes down and injured his knee, left for some time, and did come back.
00:26 Which again, this is something to monitor throughout this series.
00:29 If Joel Embiid can be 100% healthy for this playoff run,
00:33 the questions are already coming up.
00:35 33 points out of Tyrese Maxey.
00:36 It wasn't good enough.
00:37 Why?
00:38 Because you got that balanced scoring attack from the New York Knicks.
00:41 22 points out of Brunson, 22 points out of Hart.
00:44 How about off the bench, Miles McBride?
00:45 28 minutes, 7 of 12 from the field, which included 5 of 7 from 3 point range and
00:50 21 points.
00:51 The New York Knicks, the team concept holds out here in game number one, Davis.
00:57 >> It does, and it did not look that way.
00:59 I mean, a 12 point second quarter from the 76ers, and a 36 point third quarter.
01:06 I was like, man, the Knicks, they're the two seed, it's all going for them.
01:09 I mean, Jalen Brunson was having a particularly brutal game up until
01:13 the fourth quarter when he really turned it on.
01:15 Which I guess is kind of what Knicks people had been saying all year.
01:18 It's like, the national meet, everyone's ignoring Jalen Brunson, all NBA,
01:23 MVP candidate.
01:24 They were definitely perturbed when he was not amongst the MVP finalists,
01:28 with Shay Jokic and Donchic.
01:31 I mean, everyone for the Knicks really played pretty strong in this one.
01:34 Mitch Robinson coming off the bench, 12 freebounds, did a really good job.
01:38 Did as good of a job as you can expect against Joel Embiid.
01:41 I do think, just kind of one of these weird matchup wrinkles,
01:45 if the Knicks do end up winning this series moving forward.
01:48 Mitchell Robinson is gonna be playing less, and
01:50 Hartenstein is gonna be playing more.
01:52 It's just that this is a really good matchup for Mitchell Robinson and
01:56 a pretty bad one for Hartenstein.
01:58 Cuz he's a little bit more ground bound than Robinson.
02:01 Robinson is gonna have the quicker feet to stay with Embiid.
02:05 I actually think of all the series that we've talked about,
02:08 this is the one that is most likely to go the distance and
02:11 be a really interesting series that kind of goes back and
02:14 forth with the two teams trading haymakers.
02:17 Worth noting, Maxie was, I mean, he was relentless in this game.
02:22 Definitely was not his best game, though.
02:24 Definitely not his best effort in terms of being efficient.
02:28 33 points on 26 shots.
02:30 You also would like to see him get to the free throw line way more than he did.
02:34 Only got to the free throw line once.
02:36 I think, also, I mean, getting Mitchell Robinson in foul trouble with Maxie,
02:40 I mean, that would be huge.
02:43 Like if he has to sit and they have to go with the Hartenstein-Bogdanovic
02:48 pairing for any period of time.
02:50 Although we do know what Tibbs is gonna do,
02:52 which is that when it's time to dig deep, DiVincenzo, not subbing out.
02:56 Hart, not subbing out.
02:58 I mean, these dudes are playing.
03:00 Josh Hart might end up playing 48 minutes multiple times in this series.
03:05 I really wouldn't.
03:06 And DiVincenzo might too.
03:08 I know Miles McBride got hot and made five three-pointers, and
03:11 that's why DiVincenzo played fewer minutes in this game.
03:14 But when push comes to shove, Tibbs is gonna be all in with his starters.
