00:00Week 8 of this 2024 college football season and this Saturday's slate somehow some way if even
00:10possible could be just the best single Saturday of this year. An incredibly significant Saturday
00:18especially in the SEC. It is one versus five. Number one Texas, number five Georgia,
00:29under the lights in Austin on Saturday night. The Longhorns playing host to the Bulldogs the first
00:36time. Texas has hosted a top five opponent DRS in nearly 20 years since 2006. When the line
00:44opened for this game in the summer months, Texas was a slight and I mean very slight home favorite
00:51in this potential matchup. Game of the year three billing is certainly justified against UGA. The
00:58line as it opened early this week for week eight three and a half it is being added on for Steve
01:05Sarkeesian's Longhorns. Texas a four and a half point home favorite. DRS the last time that Georgia
01:13was booked as an underdog way back at the start of the 2021 season and another top five tilt to
01:19begin against Clemson. UGA won that game outright 10 to 3. We have not seen the dogs as a dog in a
01:28very long time. Do you agree with a four and a half point spread in favor of UT? I do and the
01:35line actually opened up at two and a half in is now you know up to that four and a half and even
01:39five ranges of some outlets out there. I don't think it's going to continue to get much much
01:42higher than that because there will be a buyback on Georgia. They're a pretty good football team
01:46but when I'm looking at Texas you watch that game against OU last week 34 to 3 final. If Quinn
01:51Ewers was the Quinn Ewers that started the season not injured that game might have been 54 to 3 and
01:57it would have been over much quicker because there were a lot of throws to be made in the first
02:00quarter and first half that he did not make but if you're looking from Texas you see it's like hey
02:04Sarkeesian's offense is completely rolling. They're fantastic on offense but look at the defense
02:08starting with the Michigan game 12 points UTSA seven points ULM three points Mississippi State
02:13who is a SEC team 13 points OU three points here so as much as I want to focus on the offense for
02:20Texas that defense was an absolutely sensational now we understand Georgia is a quite good defensive
02:25football team as well fell asleep a little bit in the first half against Alabama but the rest of
02:29their games lower scoring as well for me I think Texas is better if I think they are better they'll
02:34be able to cover the four and a half but that's 56 and a half I understand how good these offenses
02:39can be I'm looking towards the under on that total I am two really good defenses in a high
02:44stakes environment game I lean towards the under I don't know if we get 60 points in this one
02:49Texas's defense DRS leads the nation in terms of opponent yardage output and in terms of opponent
02:56point total they are the only team allowing less than a touchdown per game on average it's 6.8
03:04but the Longhorns have not really seen an offense just yet like Georgia where Carson Beck has thrown
03:10for more than 430 yards in two of the last three against Alabama a lot of it in the second half
03:17after three interceptions he ended up with 430 plus yards and three touchdowns more than 450
03:25last week at home against Mississippi State Donnie there were some questions about Georgia
03:31as they started their back-to-back title run in 2021 and 2022 last year with a very easy schedule
03:38as well in 2023 and their inability perhaps for Kirby sports dogs to cover games in non-conference
03:45but an SEC play they were lights out 16 and 12 against the spread in conference action from 2021
03:52to 2023 they have not covered so far in four tries oh and four against the spread for Georgia so far
04:00this year in SEC action it has not been a great recipe for the dogs just yet Texas meanwhile a
04:09favorite in all in every game this year they are five and one against the number a huge spot for
04:17Quinn Ewer sued through for less than 200 last week a quarterback match of DRS as you look at
04:23the NFL draft odds for this upcoming April between the two guys that are co-favorites right now
04:29to be that number one overall pick Beckett six to one viewers at six to one as well and to your
04:35point as we continue the victory lap this game has a magnitude and an atmosphere that we have not seen
04:42in Austin in nearly two decades because we have two teams still very much in a hunt for a college
04:49football playoff spot an SEC championship and even more than that a national title as well Texas is
04:56the favorite in its debut year in the southeastern conference to win the SEC at plus 115 but beyond
05:03that DRS look at the CFP prices both hefty minus money favorites to see the playoff Texas enters
05:10this monumental matchup in Austin as the national championship favorites at plus 350 Georgia third
05:16best price about a dollar and a half behind at plus 490 this would be one of those games where
05:21you say okay Georgia went to Alabama had the lead late lost that game even having a massive comeback
05:27okay they got one loss they can still get into the national championship picture if they win
05:31their way out this is really going to test the boundaries of can a true loss team actually get in
05:35because that Georgia game that wasn't in Georgia that's in Alabama that's a tough place to play
05:39against a top-ranked opponent you're going to go into Texas against the number one team
05:43let's just say Ben it's a fantastic game all the way through 31 30 Texas here you can still say
05:49Georgia comfortably is one of the 12 best teams in the country but now you're going to test those
05:53boundaries of what happens if another team has one loss and the discount Georgia because of that
05:58schedule that they had or you just say we had your chances to win on the football field and you didn't
06:02I want to see how this one plays out but if you are Georgia this is must win territory if you're
06:07Texas of course you want to win this football game you want to be number one you want to win the SEC
06:10you want to leave no doubt out here but this is a quality football team coming to town where if you
06:14do lose and lose close once again Austin Texas will wake up on Sunday morning like oh that's
06:20terrible we lost that game but hey we can still win a national championship and play meaningful
06:25football the rest of the way I do think Texas does win and actually would like to see Texas win
06:29because I do want to see Georgia as a two loss team how they'll actually factor in if there's an
06:34outside slim chance that they can make the championship by saying dude did you see the
06:38two teams we lost here basically number one teams on the road here and close yeah Donnie you bring
06:45up a great point I don't even think a second loss on Saturday eliminates Georgia from college
06:50football playoff contention it should not it more than likely will not does it make the margin of
06:57error the rest of the way still with Ole Miss and Tennessee on the docket that much more slim
07:03for sure will we see a three loss team in the first year of a 12 team college football playoff
07:08that remains to be seen but multiple losses as it had in the previous 10 years of the 14
07:14format of the college football playoff should not eliminate you just yet the third Saturday in
07:20October is always a huge one in SEC territory and will they be singing a rocky top all Saturday long
07:28in Knoxville Tennessee hosts Alabama both teams suffered a loss two weeks ago both on the road
07:37but both as FD favorites Tennessee in Fayetteville against Arkansas Alabama of course in Nashville
07:43against Vanderbilt and neither responded all that well last week Tennessee survives in OT against
07:50Florida in Knoxville Alabama survives at home against South Carolina late in the Crimson Tide
07:57DRS enter this Saturday tilt a top 15 one at that as a two and a half point road favorite in
08:04Knoxville how do you break it down we used to feel like all gas no breaks here but basically it's been
08:09all breaks for the Tennessee offense the past couple weeks 25 points against OU 14 versus
08:14Arkansas 23 in overtime against the Florida Gators Alabama seemingly sleepwalking through
08:20their past two weeks here taking a loss to Vanderbilt which is unheard of down in Alabama
08:25Tuscaloosa territory then South Carolina 27 to 25 or quite frankly with multiple chances for South
08:30Carolina to win that football game even late here I don't know what I'm getting out of these two
08:34football teams but I know they're not playing their best football 56 and a half this game Ben
08:39the way these two teams are playing in this important game same thing as I just told you
08:43about Texas Georgia I'm going under I don't think we get 60 points in this game I don't
08:48Tennessee's defense has been one of the best all year long second best total defense
08:53fourth best scoring defense the offense DRS has been a struggle as it has been for the freshman
09:00quarterback in Nico Iameleava a little bit more college football than Thursday night football
09:05next there are so many great games on the Saturday week eight slate it is hard to determine which
09:10ones even to preview but we could not leave this one out for our very own Miami backer that is
09:17Donnie right side the Canes on the road in Louisville Kentucky in the noon eastern window
09:24on Saturday Miami off a bye and a perfect six and oh start just a four and a half point favorite
09:32against the cards on Saturday 61 and a half is the total DRS expected to be close just how close do
09:41you expect it to be I think it is going to be close here I still will take Miami with the minus
09:45four and a half points but if you're more comfortable that's 61 and a half I've been going
09:49under on the previous two breakdowns I think this one does go over Miami rested and ready for this
09:53one we know that offense is going to put up a lot of points but also we know this defense is capable
09:57of giving up a lot of points 38 points to Cal 34 points to Virginia Tech which if they didn't
10:03overturn that final play they would give up 40 points to Virginia Tech so I think both of these
10:07football teams will move the football if you're looking at you know prop bets for Cam Ward
10:12absolutely he's still going to be in the Heisman race after this game I think they win I think this
10:16game goes over the total but if you're saying confidence meter I'd rather go over 61 and a
10:20half than lay the four and a half yeah I would agree with that DRS I think we see some offense
10:25a matchup of two very experienced and solid collegiate quarterbacks Cam Ward of course
10:31for Miami he has thrown for at least 304 yards and all six tilts for the Hurricanes this season
10:37Tyler Shuck for Louisville not bad on the either side how good will the Cardinals be under Jeff
10:44Braum who is good at pulling upsets go back to his days at Purdue as an underdog though for Louisville
10:51just twice which is kind of crazy to say both against Notre Dame an outright win a year ago
10:58a non-cover just a couple of weeks ago in South Bend Miami unable to cover in its last two games
11:05of course as a double-digit favorite in ACC play both at home against Vontech and on the road a
