00:00 LA Clippers guard Patrick Beverly isn't one to back down, even when it's an official he's going at.
00:05 Late in LA's Game 2 loss in the Denver Nuggets, Beverly went after a referee after they called him for a foul he thought he didn't commit.
00:12 He urged Doc Rivers to challenge that call, but returned to the floor the following possession after Rivers declined.
00:17 Beverly was called for another foul in the next play, and after going after a professional for the second time, was handed a technical foul.
00:23 This only escalated the issue after Beverly continued to go after the referee, and picked up a second technical foul that resulted in an automatic ejection.
00:30 On Monday, the NBA announced he had been fined $25,000 for verbally abusing an official.
00:36 We don't know what he said to that referee after he was ejected or before, but clearly if this is a fine you're not going to leave, it must have been something pretty serious.
00:44 Beverly also isn't the first Clippers player to pick up a fine this postseason, and he may not be the last either.
00:50 Last Wednesday, forward Marcus Morris Sr. received a $35,000 fine from the league for his flagrant two foul on Luka Doncic in Game 6 of LA's first-round series of Dallas Mavericks.
01:00 Because Morris is a repeat offender in that series and had a couple altercations with Doncic, a few physical fouls, went with something on his shoe that may or may not have been intentional, we don't really know about that.
01:12 Because of that, his fine was worth a bit more money than Beverly's was.
01:17 But as easy as it is to get caught up in the fire of the playoffs, guys like Beverly and Morris make a better effort to stay cool, especially in big moments.
01:25 They're two of LA's most important players right now, and Clippers have a difficult time in any series if they're both off the floor.
01:31 With games coming up Monday night, it'll be interesting to see how Beverly and Morris change their approach to the game.
