00:00History was made on Wednesday afternoon when six NBA teams, beginning with the Milwaukee
00:04Bucks, chose not to play their slate of playoff games in protest of the police shooting of
00:09Jacob Blake.
00:10Later that night, news broke the LA Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers were not in support
00:15of continuing the NBA season.
00:16However, after choosing to reconvene on Thursday morning, the players have since decided to
00:21resume the playoffs according to a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
00:25In addition to Wednesday's schedule of playoff games, Thursday's had been postponed as well
00:29which means the Clippers and Dallas Mavericks will not play game six of their first round
00:33series tonight.
00:35The Athletic's Sean Strani reported that the league and players are aiming to restart games
00:38on Friday, signaling that LA and Dallas could resume play as soon as this weekend.
00:43Additionally, players have reportedly been vocal about finding, quote, new and improved
00:48ways to make statements regarding social justice, which is understandable.
00:52Many players are frustrated with the league's limiting the messages that can be worn on
00:55the back of uniforms, so that could be something that we see change in the near future.
00:59The Clippers' personnel have seemingly played a big role in this process, but we won't know
01:02exactly what they did or said until they speak publicly about it.
01:05What we do know, though, is that Kawhi Leonard and Doc Rivers have been very involved.
01:09The LA Times' Brad Turner reported Wednesday night that Leonard, along with Los Angeles
01:13Lakers star LeBron James, spoke up during the meeting about not continuing play, while
01:17Wojnarowski listed Rivers among a group of people that were leading the discussion.
01:22Additionally, Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love tweeted,
01:25Doc Rivers is the blank best, shortly before it was announced that the season would resume.
01:31Throughout this time in the bubble, Rivers has been adamant about players using this
01:34platform to bring awareness to social justice issues, but has also said that we must let
01:38the youth lead the way.
01:40On Tuesday, Rivers will wave what his message would be to players considering sitting out
01:43the remainder of the season, saying, quote,
01:56So they're not going to take any dreams away.
02:00There are reportedly more meetings set to take place at the day, which are expected
02:04to include a plan of action as the league moves forward through this process.
