00:00 The LA Clippers will again be without starting guard Patrick Beverly in Friday's Game 3
00:05 against the Dallas Mavericks.
00:06 Beverly, who will miss his second game in a row in this series, was officially listed
00:10 as doubtful heading into tonight's contest.
00:12 Doc Rivers previously said that he would likely be a game-time decision, but has since clarified
00:16 his status, saying, "He's not available today.
00:19 He's getting better.
00:20 I guess would be the best way to phrase it."
00:22 Rivers wouldn't say who'd be starting in Beverly's place, but did note that Landry
00:26 Shamin would play more in Game 3, saying, "Landry just needs to play more and needs
00:31 more timing.
00:32 He missed basically the entire camp due to COVID and the impact of that.
00:36 We're just trying to get him right.
00:37 He's close.
00:38 I can tell you that.
00:39 And he'll play more tonight."
00:40 Reggie Jackson got the starting nod in Game 2, but it's hard to see that happening again
00:45 given his and the team's performance in that game.
00:47 Jackson's starting group struggled to produce offensively in the first quarter of Wednesday's
00:51 contest and he was negative on defense all night long.
00:54 He did manage to knock down three triples in a row at one point in the game, but otherwise
00:58 shot one of six from the floor.
00:59 Shamin, on the other hand, played 18 minutes and logged two points, two assists, and a
01:04 rebound.
01:05 It seems that Beverly could be back in the lineup soon, hopefully as soon as Sundays
01:09 can participate in Game 4, but it's hard to say exactly when at this point.
01:13 One thing is for sure, though, and that's that LA has struggled all season without Beverly
01:16 in the rotation and the team must find a way to survive without him if they're going to
01:19 win this series.
01:21 The Clippers and Dallas Maddox will take the floor at 9 p.m. Eastern time on Friday night.
01:26 The game will air on TNT and Fox Sports Prime TV.
