The LA Clippers will be shorthanded against the Lakers on opening night.
Transcript
00:00 The LA Clippers are going to be a bit short-handed against the Lakers tomorrow on the opening night game.
00:07 Everybody's been looking forward to this game for what seems to be all season.
00:11 The Clippers are up 2-1. They want to see, you know, the rubber match.
00:14 They want to see, do the Lakers even the odds if the Clippers shut it down.
00:18 But unfortunately, they're not going to have Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell.
00:24 Obviously, everybody knows why Lou Williams isn't going to be there.
00:28 Trez is not going to be there because he seems to be suffering an issue with his grandmother.
00:33 It seems like his grandmother is very, very ill.
00:35 So, you know, he's having to make a judgment call on coming back in the bubble or being with the last days of his grandmother.
00:40 The two of them combined, though, averaged 37 points a game for the Clippers.
00:45 And that's a team that already is the best bench in the league with 51 points a game.
00:50 And so those two pretty much make up the reason why the Clippers have the best bench in the entire NBA.
00:57 Now, it's going to be a big deal to miss those two.
01:00 And the Clippers are going to need to figure out a way to have Jermichael Green, Reggie Jackson, Landry Schammett all step up.
01:04 That's what they're there to do.
01:06 Now, in terms of the other guys that may or may not play, Patrick Beverly is listed as questionable.
01:11 The Lakers obviously are going to have Rajon Rondo or Avery Bradley, but they're nowhere near on the level of a Montrezl Harrell or Lou Williams.
01:17 But they also have Anthony Davis listed as questionable.
01:21 Now, if Anthony Davis is missing, then this is a much harder game to call.
01:25 But if Anthony Davis is playing, these games are already tightly contested when everyone was healthy.
01:31 Without the two leading candidates of the six men of the year on the Clippers not playing there, you have to give the edge to the Lakers.
