00:00 Le Seigneur a pris conscience de Sarah, comme il l'avait dit, et Sarah a conçu et a apporté un fils à Abraham quand il avait cent-huit ans.
00:11 Hey kids, this is the story of Abraham and his son Isaac and in it we will learn what true worship of God is.
00:20 Now the Lord took note of Sarah as he had said, and Sarah conceived and bore a son to Abraham when he was a hundred years old, and Abraham called him Isaac. And the child grew and was weaned, and Abraham made a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned. But Sarah saw Ishmael mocking her son.
00:46 Therefore she said to Abraham, Drive out this maid and her son, for the son of this maid shall not be an heir with my son Isaac. And God said to Abraham, Do not be distressed because of the lad and your maid. Whatever Sarah tells you, listen to her, for through Isaac your descendants shall be named.
01:10 So Abraham rose early in the morning, and took bread and a skin of water, and gave them to Hagar, putting them on her shoulder, and gave her the boy, and sent her away.
01:22 So Hagar went and wandered about in the wilderness of Beersheba. When the water and the skin was used up, she left the boy under one of the bushes. Then she went and sat down opposite him, about a bow shot away, for she said, Do not let me see the boy die. And she sat opposite him, and lifted up her voice and wept.
01:46 And God heard the lad crying. And the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven, and said to her, What is the matter with you, Hagar? Do not fear, for God has heard the voice of the lad where he is. Arise and lift up the lad, and hold him by the hand, for I will make a great nation of him.
02:10 Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water, and she went and filled the skin with water, and gave the lad a drink. God was with the lad, and he grew, and he lived in the wilderness, and he became an archer.
02:26 But after these things God tested Abraham, and said to him, Abraham, and he said, Here I am. He said, Now take your son, your only son whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will tell you.
02:50 So Abraham rose early in the morning, and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and he split wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.
03:06 On the third day Abraham raised his eyes and saw the place from a distance. Abraham said to his young men, Stay here with the donkey, and I and the lad will go over there, and we will worship and return to you.
03:24 Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it on Isaac his son, and he took in his hand the fire and the knife, so the two of them walked on together.
03:36 Isaac spoke to Abraham his father, and said, My father, and he said, Here I am, my son, and he said, Behold the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?
03:51 Abraham said, God will provide himself the lamb for the burnt offering, my son, so the two of them walked on together.
04:00 Then they came to the place, and Abraham built the altar there, and arranged the wood, and bound his son Isaac, and laid him on the altar on top of the wood.
04:12 Abraham stretched out his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
04:17 But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham, and he said, Here I am, and he said, Do not harm the lad, for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.
04:35 Then Abraham looked, and saw behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns, and Abraham took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the place of his son.
04:49 And Abraham called the name of that place, The Lord will provide.
04:55 Then the angel of the Lord called Abraham a second time from heaven, and said, By myself I have sworn, declares the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son,
05:11 Indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your seed, as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is on the sea shore; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice.
05:31 So Abraham returned to his young men, and they arose, and went together home to Beersheba.
05:39 Well kids, in this story, Abraham shows us what true worship of God is, by his willingness to sacrifice his greatest possession, his only son.
05:51 He showed how much God was worth to him, and God rewarded him by making him a blessing to the whole world.
