00:00 How do you assess their performance?
00:07 Really pleased, I thought we played well, I thought we scored some really good goals.
00:10 We had a real energy about us tonight, but we're only at half-time so we have to be respectful
00:16 of that, we have to be respectful of them because they're a really good side.
00:21 But yeah, I'm pleased obviously, we've given ourselves a real chance now, we've just got
00:26 to make sure that we remain professional, recover properly and prepare properly for
00:31 what's going to be a really tough game at their place.
00:33 You defended really well tonight and their chances are few and far between, how important
00:37 would that wheel right feel to be in this tie?
00:40 Yeah, let's hope it is, but sometimes we play with a lot of risk, that's what I've asked
00:45 the players to do all season, we're never going to change.
00:48 We went man for man, which can catch you out at times with one long ball down the middle,
00:54 but we've coached the players to run really hard and fast when the ball does go south,
00:59 we've got to run really hard and fast and we certainly did that and a great bit of defending,
01:03 but I thought we defended quite well all night anyway.
01:06 I was speaking to the Milton Keynes reporter at half-time and he said their goalkeeper
01:12 played long balls more than he has done all season in that first half, do you think that's
01:16 down to the way you played and the pressure you put on?
01:18 Yeah, quite possibly, but I thought our keeper did as well, so I've got to give them a bit
01:22 of credit in terms of how they pressed us. I felt that we could have made more passes
01:26 from the back, but we didn't hook their centre-forward in as much as I wanted to, but when we did
01:34 play long we kind of got in anyway, or we landed on second balls and started to play
01:38 from there. We knew it was going to be a tactical game because their manager is a very tactical
01:43 coach, good manager, and they're a good side, so we've got to remain really professional
01:50 and humble because it's not done yet.
01:52 Yeah, and like we saw at the end, you didn't do your usual celebration, because like you
01:55 said it's half-time.
01:56 No, just a message to the fans regarding that. I know they wanted me to, but there's no way
02:00 in a million years that was ever happening because we are at half-time and there's no
02:03 way I'm celebrating tonight and I've told the players not to celebrate because it's
02:06 not done yet.
02:07 And it's a pretty good first half, though, isn't it?
02:09 It is a pretty good first half, and we're really delighted with our performance tonight
02:16 and of course the result, but we've still got a lot to do.
02:19 How was your part of it?
02:21 I was alright, I was fine with it because that's how we play. I'm probably the calmest
02:29 one out, the fans are like, 'Oh, I'm the calmest one'. You have to be because I've asked the
02:34 players to play that way. Sometimes the risk and the reward, it's one of them, and we got
02:40 it right tonight. Another night we might not have got it right.
02:44 Brilliant. Well done.
