00:00 The Department of Foreign Affairs has tightened the visa requirement of Chinese nationals entering the Philippines.

00:06 The reason for the tightening is Sandra Aguinaldo's statement.

00:33 Now, the Department of Foreign Affairs tightened their visa requirements to go to the Philippines.

00:39 The Philippines will now ask for a Social Insurance Certificate as proof of their identity.

00:49 The most important thing, the addition is you have to show your Social Insurance Certificate.

01:01 The reason for the tightening is we will pass a fake statement, fake employee certificate.

01:07 And it's hard to verify that because it's written in Chinese.

01:11 And we have also some local hired people Chinese speaking but still, many are applying.

01:19 The request for the Social Insurance Certificate is also being done by other embassies in China.

01:25 The tightening of visa requirements was done in a hot competition between China and the Philippines in the West Philippine Sea.

01:33 But through the DFA, the new visa policy has no connection to the previous issue.

01:38 According to the Department of Tourism, from January to May 10 this year,

01:44 China is the third country with the most tourists who came to the country, which is more than 150,000.

01:50 In total, in 2023, China is the fifth country with the most tourists who came to the Philippines, which is more than 263,000.

01:59 According to the DFA, tourists in the Philippines are still welcome to China who can meet the requirements.

02:06 We are encouraging quality tourists to come to the Philippines. We're not shutting them off.
