00:00Hi, my name is Mike Price and I'll be taking on the bonkers challenge of Footsteps to Football on May the 10th where I'll be leaving my home up here in Lincolnshire and walking 240 miles south all the way down, call it 19 football clubs in London and hopefully, hopefully, end up on May the 19th at the Amex Stadium down in Brighton and I'll be walking for the charity Forward Facing.
00:26A lot of people ask me why Forward Facing? It's a very easy question to answer. Two reasons. The first reason was I was diagnosed with cancer six years ago and for extensive treatment of chemo and radiotherapy, lots of positivity, great friends and people around me, many from the club at Brighton, all helped me get through this illness.
00:52And it was through them times that it really showed how people can be so kind to you and especially some of my really great and dear friends down at the Albion. So I wanted to think about trying to give something back and every game we meet up, we talk about not just football, we talk about our daily lives and it was at this point I started to hear about the charity Forward Facing.
01:16And they all tell you I asked lots and lots of questions and it soon become quite obvious that their daily lives were so different to mine, but they go about these things so normal and it really inspired me to ask more, get involved a bit more and to the point where now I took the decision that I felt it was the right thing to do is to actually get involved with Forward Facing and like them, try and give something back as well.
01:46It's a great charity, I'm learning about it every single day, I'm learning lovely stories, I'm meeting lovely people in the charity and some of the inspiring stories I hear just make me want to walk even further if I'll be honest. So that's the reason why I'm doing it. I've got to go and pack my bags because I've got not long now, two days to go, got to get some surgical spirit on my feet and I shall see you all on May the 10th. Take care.
