00:06A new yellow weather warning has been issued for Sussex amid the risk of thunderstorms.
00:11The Met Office said scattered showers and thunderstorms may lead to some disruption.
00:16A yellow warning is in place from 8am until 7pm today. This covers a large part of Sussex
00:22including Chichester, Arundel, Worthing, Stenning, Brighton, Seaford, Folgate, Eastbourne, Bexhill
00:29Battle and Hastings.
00:32Highlighting what to expect, a spokesperson for the Met Office said spray and sudden flooding
00:37could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
00:41Where flooding or lightning strikes occur there is a chance of delays and some cancellations
00:45to train and bus services.
00:48There is also a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes
00:52and businesses could be lost.
00:54While many places will remain dry, scattered showers are expected throughout Wednesday.
00:59Weather is developed and they are likely to be heavy at times with the risk of hail and thunder.
01:04Meanwhile, temporary traffic lights which caused chaos in Eastbourne have now been removed.
01:09The four-way traffic lights were placed at Marshall Roundabout in Hampden Park on Thursday
01:13afternoon with just a few hours warning ahead of urgent repairs to a gas leak.
01:17Over the weekend, Josh Bavarinde, Eastbourne's Liberal Democrat candidate for MP, called
01:22the works total carnage and urged SGN's CEO to pull out all the stops to end this standstill.
01:29Mr Bavarinde said on Tuesday that the traffic lights were being removed as we speak.
01:34Bradley Barlow, a spokesperson for SGN, said our engineers completed urgent gas network
01:38repairs in Marshalls Road over the weekend and were now working to restore the road surface
01:42around our site to its original condition.
01:44Finally, a new independent specialty coffee shop will open in Chichester next month.
