00:00 A London office building linked to the family of a former Malaysian politician has been
00:06 withdrawn from sale, according to sources.
00:10 The building at 1 Crown Court on Cheapside, about 400 metres from St Paul's Cathedral,
00:15 was put up for sale last year for 28.6 million pounds or 171 million ringgit, according to
00:21 a document seen by Bloomberg News.
00:24 An outline deal was agreed upon with an investor earlier this year, but the talks collapsed
00:29 and the property has since been withdrawn from sale, the People said, asking to remain
00:34 anonymous because the process was private.
00:37 The report by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists in January said
00:41 UK-led registry findings show the building is owned by a British Virgin Islands company
00:46 called Straits Properties Limited.
00:49 This company is ultimately owned by a trust, and the wife of former Malaysian Finance Minister
00:54 Daim Zainudin is a beneficiary.
00:57 A representative for the family declined to comment.
01:00 In January, Daim and his wife Naima Khalid were charged with allegedly failing to declare
01:04 assets under Malaysia's anti-corruption law.
01:07 They have pleaded not guilty.
