00:00To see flexible and agile, the NSS will be a living document, evolving as needed, but
00:13we remain steadfast in our aspiration to make Malaysia a major global player in accessible
00:21technology for all, powered by our semiconductor industry.
00:27Firstly, on investments, we'll quote at least RM500 billion of investments in Phase 1, with
00:35domestic direct investment, focusing on IC design, advanced packaging and manufacturing
00:43equipment, and FDI, focusing on waterfabs and manufacturing equipment.
00:51By Phase 2, we want to establish at least 10 Malaysian companies in design and advanced
00:57packaging, with revenues between RM1 billion to RM4.7 billion, or RM210 billion to RM1
01:05billion, and at least 100 semiconductor-related companies with revenues close to RM1 billion
01:14to RM1 billion, creating higher wages for Malaysian workers.
01:22Now, R&D Hub developed Malaysia as a global R&D hub for semiconductors, featuring world-class
01:32universities, corporate R&D, and centres of excellence, blending the very best of Malaysian
01:38and international talent.
01:40Reaffirming Malaysia's commitment to becoming a global leader in the semiconductor industry,
01:46the National Semiconductor Strategic Task Force, with CREST serving as the Secretariat,
01:52focuses on fostering innovation, enhancing research and development capabilities, and
01:58driving the commercialisation of the semiconductor technologies.
02:04Ultimately, the NSS is a means for Malaysia to advance and democratise technology for
02:13the good of all humanity.
02:16To achieve this, we need your support, both from those here today and others beyond this
02:21room.
02:34Thank you.
