00:00 The sanctuary in India, Positive Sanctuary, was called when some children had seen a woman dump her from the car.
00:06 Yuki is not a street dog. This is a purebred dog in India.
00:10 When they went to pick her up, she couldn't walk, she couldn't move.

00:15 And they figured it was from being kept in a cage too small to stand up or grow.
00:21 They did all sorts of physiotherapy with her to get her walking again.

00:30 I was so fortunate that one of the founders goes between India and Toronto, Canada.
00:35 She facilitated the whole thing to get her to Canada.

00:45 You could see that her personality just wanted to come out if she knew she could trust you.

00:58 Had many, many litters of puppies while she was on the streets of Thailand.
01:02 And I think she just felt that puppy energy from Yuki and really took to her.
01:06 It's the most wonderful thing to see two dogs who have had such a rough start in life
01:14 just leave it all behind and live like the puppies that they were never given the chance to be.
01:19 She wants to go everywhere with me.
01:26 That's how she taught herself the stairs.
01:28 I was just running up to grab something out of my bedroom
01:31 and I could hear this noise on the stairs and I'm like, "Oh my goodness."
01:34 And I realized it was Yuki.
01:35 She thought that she could figure it out and that's exactly what she did.
01:38 Now, any time that I run upstairs, even if it's for a minute, I can hear her coming.
01:46 Amira will stand behind her on the stairs and climb up very slowly behind Yuki
01:51 just to make sure nothing goes wrong.

01:54 She can't walk like a normal dog and unfortunately, the surgeon here in Canada said
01:59 there's really no way to fix any of the bones because it's every single one of them.

02:05 The vets can't understand how her spinal cord stays in her vertebrae

02:19 I showed the orthopedic bad videos of her running and he said, "I can't even believe it."

02:29 He said that play will be her greatest therapy and that will strengthen her muscles

02:37 She could suffer very soon with arthritis, so we have her on all sorts of supplements
