00:00Hello, this is Joe Buck here with all the latest in Castle United transfer news for
00:04the Shields Gazette.
00:05Now, at the time of recording we are still, what is it, nine days away from the transfer
00:09window opening on June 14th and so far Newcastle haven't yet made a signing.
00:13Of course we all know they chased Tulsan Adebayoyo from Fulham, now it looks like he's going
00:17to join Chelsea.
00:18That's a blow for Newcastle, I think the wages simply, they probably couldn't compete with
00:22that and it's a London club, he's not going to have to move houses, you know, conferencing,
00:27football, I'm not sure if that was too much of a factor, but yeah, it's a big one for
00:29Newcastle to miss out on Tulsan there, but one that they're hopeful of getting over the
00:33line is of course Lloyd Kelly from Bournemouth.
00:37Clubs are beginning to release their retain lists and sort of finalising those, we expect
00:41Kelly to be on that for Bournemouth and then where he goes next year is again, still up
00:45in the air, but Newcastle are obviously his favourites for that one, I don't like the
00:46Tulsan one, I think it's a bit of a competition, I don't think there was too much competition
00:47for Kelly and Newcastle are expected to get that one over the line and that'll really
00:48start the transfer window.
00:49It won't be the two they wanted, but it'll certainly be one and then you think, can they
00:59go on and they'll really get the big one, but once the transfer window starts, of course
01:02you've got the air complicating factor if you're a 20-24 in the middle there, so how
01:06that sort of works out this summer out of transfer business is unknown, but it will
01:10be a good start for Newcastle, can't get Kelly over the line.
01:13Again, it's going to be a busy summer for Newcastle, despite there's no football, you
01:17can see behind me there, that's the construction of St James' Park stack, that's been a little
01:21bit delayed, that was the way of getting that open in time for the Euros, but as you can
01:25see right now, that's not going to happen, it's likely to be August, but if that's after
01:29the Premier League season, that's when that's likely to be open.
01:32And just on my right shoulder, which you can't see, but we've got some trees there, is the
01:35new Adidas club shop, now the Newcastle United kit for next season, the home kit, sorry,
01:39is launched on June 7th, so literally just two days away or whenever you're reading this,
01:43literally the end of this week, so that'll be, you know, you've seen stuff online and
01:47it leaks, but that'll be a big moment for Newcastle, first return to Adidas kit since
01:51obviously 2010, so yeah, it's a big moment for Newcastle United, and where that kit's
01:56released, and the temporary club shop, we'll have that from 8 o'clock on Friday morning
02:00before, whilst the club shop and the stadium's getting renovated, which will open later on
02:04in the year.
02:05So yeah, big, despite nothing happening really in Newcastle, there's still a big, big few
02:09things, you know, going on in the background and a couple of big moves, and yeah, we expect
02:12once this first domino, the transfer window falls, that lots more will follow that very
02:16soon, and the best way to stay up to date with all that is, of course, with the Shields
02:19newsletter.
