00:18 Louisa Erizpia is in the center of the news. Louisa?
00:24 Audrey, Miru Systems Company Ltd. has shown the production of machines used by the country for the 2025 midterm elections.
00:36 They also added customizing machines from South Korea.
00:41 From the outside of the plant to the screens, the machines and the bags, Miru has shown the production of machines used by the Philippines in the 2025 midterm elections.
00:56 But even if Miru started mass production in ACMs, Comelec still has additional machines to be customized.
01:05 The first thing Comelec asked for is to remove the option that voters can change their vote.
01:12 Comelec said that the process of voting will take longer if this is implemented.
01:17 If you allow a voter to stay there for 20 minutes, 30 minutes each, nobody will be able to vote after that.
01:24 So this is to allow everybody to vote. And the most important thing is we are able to utilize the screen to show the ballot image.
01:33 When it comes to election returns, the commission wants to have a list of the recipients of the stakeholders so that the teachers won't be confused when transmitting it.
01:43 It also wants to ensure that the teachers can transmit the results of the votes to all stakeholders.
01:51 So the second customization request that we would like to make to Miru is about the election returns.
01:59 If it is possible, when we print the eight election returns, the first eight election returns should contain to whom these election returns are intended to.
02:11 For example, it should be automatically printed there.
02:14 Aside from the changes that Comelec is asking for, Miru also has a request.
02:18 It is asking for a memorandum of understanding for I-1 and SMS Global, the system provider of the Philippines, for the transmission of votes.
02:29 This is to ensure that the integration of obtaining election returns and transmitting it will be polished.
02:37 Comelec also assured that there is a backup of the SD card of election returns and that machines can also change the climate in the Philippines.
02:45 Miru's response to Comelec's request is positive and they promised to be attentive to the additional commissions for customization.
02:54 Comelec is thankful for Miru's transparency so that the election in the country will be polished.
03:01 Audrey, as part of the transparency of mass production of automated counting machines,
03:08 later this afternoon, Miru will have their plant from the entire facility certified so that they can show how they are manufacturing these machines from the screens
03:21 and also how to read the votes so that the public can see how the new ACM or machines that we will use in the upcoming elections will be.
03:33 Thank you very much Louisa Erispe.
