Datuk Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar's recent appointment as Attorney General is in accordance with the rule of law, says Fahmi Fadzil.

The Communications Minister, who also serves as the spokesman for the unity government, said the appointment was in accordance with Article 145(1) of the Federal Constitution.

00:08His Excellency, the Honourable Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong has the honour
00:12to appoint Datuk Muhammad Dusuki bin Mokhtar as State Attorney,
00:17who has just been sworn in on 12th November,
00:20to replace Tan Sri Ahmad Teri Rudin Muhammad Saleh,
00:24who has been appointed as Judge of the Constitutional Court.
00:29In fact, the process of appointing him is in accordance with the law
00:35and as stipulated in the Constitutional Court.
00:40The appointment of Datuk Muhammad Dusuki as State Attorney is based on his extensive experience
00:48in the field of advocacy for 31 years in the State Attorney's Office.
00:57The Madani government remains committed to reform the function of the State Attorney
01:01with the empirical study of the role of the State Attorney and the public prosecutor
01:08that has been started this year,
01:11with empirical studies to Australia and Canada,
01:14in addition to several roundtable discussions with experts,
01:19academicians and civil society organizations, or CSOs,
01:23in and abroad.
01:25In 2025,
01:27several sessions related to the relevant parties will be held,
01:33and an interim report on the results of the study will be submitted to the Cabinet in the near future.
