Eden Rose pink diamond beats estimate, sells for $13.3M  The Eden Rose, a 10.20 carat round brilliant fancy intense pink diamond, and the top lot at Christie's Magnificent Jewels, sells for $13.3 million on June 11, 2024, exceeding its estimate of $9 million. Christie's said the Magnificent Jewels auction saw strong participation with bids from around the globe, including 51 percent from the Americas, 24 percent from Europe, and 26 percent from the Asia Pacific and Middle East. 01:27Pink diamonds, the colour is caused by the slippage in the crystal lattice.

01:39It's the pressure in the stone that causes colour, so in fact, it's a very difficult

01:44stone to cut because there's a lot of pressure in the stone and there's a risk of damaging

01:49the stone while it's on the cutting wheel, so to have it in this important size, in this

01:54special shape, with the colour that was able to come out of the stone and retain an internally
