Martin Truex Jr. addressed the media Friday at Iowa Speedway to announce his retirement from full-time racing at the end of the 2024 season.

00:19to let y'all know that I will not be back full-time next year but excited
00:24about the rest of the year obviously and it means the world to me to see Johnny
00:28Morris here he's been you know a huge supporter of mine and you know I
00:33wouldn't have been able to do you know any of the things I've been able to do
00:37without him being behind me 21 years so it's been it's been incredible it's been
00:41a hell of a ride I'm excited about the future and not really sure what that
00:46looks like yet but feel good about you know my decision and I just want to
00:51thank coach and everybody at JGR Toyota they've been absolutely amazing to you
00:57know to be able to win a championship is something I always dreamed of and to
01:00be able to get that done was was amazing and just feel really lucky to be
01:04surrounded by a lot of great people over the years so to all the guys I've worked
01:08with crew members crew chiefs team owners you know you name it across the
01:14board it's been it's been a true honor and I'll miss all those people for sure
01:18but I won't be gone I'll be around still and we're gonna do some stuff together
01:23have some fun and enjoy life a little bit wind down
