Travel advice ahead of Pink’s Anfield gigs

00:00Mersey Travel has issued a guide to the thousands of fans heading to Anfield as a series of summer
00:06gigs continue. Around 100,000 people are expected to descend on the home of Liverpool Football Club
00:12for back-to-back shows as part of Pink's Summer Carnival Tour on Monday and Tuesday, June 24th
00:17and 25th. Many public transport services end between 11.30pm and midnight, with fans encouraged
00:23to make sure they can get home from each show. Mersey Rail is operating a normal service,
00:28with fans encouraged to use the Northern and Wirral lines. While there is a stagecoach strike
00:33taking place on the days of the concerts, the 917 shuttle bus from Liverpool City Centre to Anfield
00:39is due to operate as normal. Arriva services are expected to be operating as normal throughout
00:44the duration of the shows. Those living near to Anfield or who have managed to secure accommodation
00:49nearby are encouraged to make use of the surrounding area's active travel routes.
00:54This will ease the pressure on public transport when capacity is expected to be highest.
