00:00Good morning from the Pag-asa Weather Forecasting Center.
00:04This is our update on the weather for the next 24 hours.
00:10We can see here in our latest satellite images,
00:14the clouds in the western section of our country
00:17is the continuous effect of low winds
00:21in the northern part of Southern Luzon and Visayas.
00:24So as compared to the previous days,
00:26the areas were reduced in the experience of rain
00:29or the continuous rains brought by the low winds.
00:32We can still expect the cloudy sky with scattered rains,
00:36thunderstorms here in the area of Zamboanga Peninsula,
00:39Basilan, Sulu, in Tawetawi,
00:41as well as here in the western sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas.
00:47In most parts of our country, including Metro Manila,
00:50you can experience generally fair weather conditions
00:54aside from isolated rain showers or localized thunderstorms.
00:59Continuous rains brought by the low winds
01:02in the mentioned areas will continue over the weekend.
01:05When it reaches early next week on Monday,
01:09we expect the back part or the weakening of the effects
01:14of the low winds in our country.
01:16So it's possible that the rains brought by the low winds
01:19will only be offshore.
01:21This means that the rains brought by the low winds
01:25will not reach early next week.
01:28And most likely, only this area of Palawan
01:31will experience the rains brought by the low winds.
01:34At the same time as the weakening of the southwest monsoon,
01:37we expect the strengthening or the easterly winds
01:42in the eastern part of our country.
01:45So when it reaches Tuesday until Wednesday next week,
01:48we expect the chance of rains
01:51brought by the easterlies in the eastern section of Southern Luzon
01:56and the eastern section of Visayas.
01:59In most parts of our country,
02:02or inside and outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility,
02:06we do not monitor the low-pressure areas
02:09or any bad weather that may affect any part of our country
02:13in the coming days.
02:16To give you an idea of the weather today in Luzon,
02:20we still expect that because of the low winds,
02:23the sky will be cloudy and there will be scattered rains
02:26and landslides here in the area of Occidental Mindoro.
02:30Meanwhile, in most parts of Luzon,
02:32including Metro Manila,
02:34we will experience partly cloudy and partly rainy days
02:38with a chance of late afternoon to evening
02:41with rains brought by thunderstorms.
02:44The maximum temperature forecast for Luzon today
02:47is possible to reach 33 degrees Celsius,
02:5036 degrees here in Tagaytay City
02:53and 26 degrees Celsius in Baguio City.
02:56The maximum temperature forecast for Metro Manila today
03:00is possible to reach 33 degrees Celsius,
03:0331 degrees here in Tagaytay
03:05and 32 degrees Celsius in Legazpi City.
03:09In areas of Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao,
03:14the western section of Mindanao,
03:17particularly areas of Zamboanga Peninsula,
03:20Basilan, Sulu, Tawitawi,
03:22as well as the entire Palawan and western Visayas,
03:25we will experience today
03:27a high chance of continuous rains brought by thunderstorms.
03:31And just today,
03:33we were able to record rains brought by thunderstorm activity
03:37here in the central and southern portions of Palawan.
03:40And we expect that for the remainder of the day,
03:43more areas of Palawan will experience rains brought by thunderstorms
03:47and we will also experience rains and thunderstorms
03:51here in the western Visayas and western section of Mindanao.
03:55For the rest of Visayas and Mindanao,
03:57we will experience today generally fair weather conditions
04:01aside from the chance of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms
04:06in the afternoon to evening.
04:09Maximum temperature forecast for Kalayaan Islands
04:12and Puerto Princesa today,
04:14it's possible to reach 31 degrees Celsius.
04:17It's 32 degrees here in the areas of Iloilo, Cebu and Tacloban.
04:22Maximum temperature forecast for Cagayan de Oro today,
04:26it's possible to reach 32 degrees Celsius
04:29and it's also 32 degrees here
04:31is our maximum temperature forecast
04:33for areas of Davao and Zamboanga City.
04:38And as for our ocean,
04:39at the moment, there are still no high-yield warnings
04:42in any nearby islands
04:44and it's possible that we will experience
04:46up to moderate thunderstorms in a large part of our country.
04:50However, we should still prepare for strong winds and thunderstorms
04:55because if we have offshore thunderstorm activity,
04:57we should expect the effects,
05:00especially here in the western section of our country.
05:04The highest temperature here in Manila
05:06is expected to reach 528 degrees Celsius in the morning
05:09and it will drop to 628 degrees Celsius in the afternoon.
