00:03Aldi has revealed a list of priority locations across the country
00:07where new stores could be built in the future and the supermarket is aiming for
00:10a new one in Chesterfield. The discount superstore recently called
00:14on the nation to highlight areas in Britain
00:16where an Aldi store might be needed. Aldi's popularity has grown as many
00:21shoppers switch to their supermarket of choice due to its discount prices
00:24and it is now the fourth largest supermarket chain in the UK
00:27with more than 1,000 stores across the UK. The supermarket received thousands of
00:32requests for a new Aldi store in various cities and towns as they hope
00:36to expand their long-term target of having more than 1,500 stores across
00:40the country. Now Aldi has revealed the short list of
00:44priority locations in areas where they have identified a
00:46demand for a discount shop with Chesterfield included on the list
00:50of 27 priority areas.
00:54Organisers of a celebration to mark a D-Day veteran's 104th birthday
00:59are counting on kind-hearted people to rally for a birthday card appeal.
01:03Maurice Baldwin, a resident at Kilburn Care Home in Belper
01:07is set to celebrate his remarkable birthday on July the 25th.
01:11Staff at the home have launched an appeal for 104 birthday cards
01:14to make Maurice's day extra special. Amy Weston who is care manager at Kilburn
01:19Care Home said,
01:24This is a testament to enduring love and family values.
01:27We're excited to celebrate his 104th birthday
01:30and would love for the community to join us in making it special by sending him
01:34birthday cards. Receiving 104 cards would be a
01:38wonderful way to honour his incredible journey.
