00:00What do you do with an idea?
00:29Written by Kobi Yamada Illustrated by Mae Beesom
00:36One day, I had an idea.
00:39Where did it come from?
00:41Why is it here?
00:43I wondered, what do you do with an idea?
00:52At first, I didn't think much of it.
00:55It seemed kind of strange and fragile.
00:58I didn't know what to do with it, so I just walked away from it.
01:03I acted like it didn't belong to me.
01:10But it followed me.
01:18I worried what others would think.
01:20What would people say about my idea?
01:24I kept it to myself.
01:26I hid it away and didn't talk about it.
01:29I tried to act like everything was the same as it was before my idea showed up.
01:39But there was something magical about my idea.
01:42I had to admit, I felt better and happier when it was around.
01:51It wanted food, and it wanted to play.
01:55Actually, it wanted a lot of attention.
02:02It grew bigger, and we became friends.
02:11I showed it to other people, even though I was afraid of what they would say.
02:17I was afraid that if people saw it, they would laugh at it.
02:21I was afraid they would think it was silly.
02:25And many of them did.
02:27They said it was no good.
02:29They said it was too weird.
02:31They said it was a waste of my time, and that it would never become anything.
02:40And at first, I believed them.
02:43I actually thought about giving up on my idea.
02:47I almost listened to them.
02:54But then I realized, what do they really know?
02:58This is my idea, I thought.
03:00No one knows it like I do.
03:03And it's okay if it's different and weird and maybe a little crazy.
03:07I decided to protect it, to care for it.
03:11I fed it good food.
03:12I worked with it.
03:13I played with it.
03:15But most of all, I gave it my attention.
03:22My idea grew and grew, and so did my love for it.
03:31I built it a new house, one with an open roof where it could look up at the stars, a place
03:37where it could be safe to dream.
03:44I liked being with my idea.
03:46It made me feel more alive, like I could do anything.
03:51It encouraged me to think big, and then to think bigger.
03:56It shared its secrets with me.
03:58It showed me how to walk on my hands, because, it said, it is good to have the ability to
04:05see things differently.
04:11I couldn't imagine my life without it.
04:18Then one day, something amazing happened.
04:21My idea changed right before my very eyes.
04:25It spread its wings, took flight, and burst into the sky.
04:33I don't know how to describe it, but it went from being here to being everywhere.
04:40It wasn't just a part of me anymore.
04:42It was now a part of everything.
04:49And then I realized what you do with an idea.
04:53You change the world.
05:01I hope you enjoyed that story.
