00:15Henry's cat had waited weeks for this, and now it had finally arrived.
00:20He settled down with his tomato soup sandwich to watch the fancy-dressed disco dance competition.
00:26The first pair on were dressed as chickens on roller skates.

00:34With so many feathers flying, they were dismissed.
00:37The next pair came on as aliens from outer space.

00:42All covered in lights, and came off with a bang!

00:48The announcer said the contest had been a dead heat in more ways than one,
00:53and there would be a new competition next week.
00:55Henry's cat thought,
00:57Oh, that's just the sort of thing I'm good at.
01:01So he got all his friends together and said,
01:03I've got an idea.
01:04We'll invent a dance and go in for the competition on the telly next week.
01:09This is the first step.
01:12Waggle your hips and bend your knees.
01:16And pat your head whilst rubbing your belly,
01:21said Ted Tortoise.
01:22Stretch your arms and shake like a jelly,
01:25said Chris Rabbit.
01:27And we'll call it the Disco Donald,
01:30said Douglas Donald.
01:32And we'll dress up as our favourite food
01:35and call ourselves the Yum-Yums,
01:39said Henry's cat.
01:41Well, they practised, and on the great day,
01:44Henry's cat and his friends arrived dressed as their favourite food
01:48and were announced as
01:50Henry's cat and the Yum-Yums doing the Disco Donald.
01:55Disco Donald, here's to Charles,
01:57happy to dance, glad to dance.
01:59When they started to dance,
02:01even the announcer copied them.

02:04Oh, I like it.

02:07So did the audience in the studio.
02:09All you need is wiggle, wiggle and bounce,
02:11and a little bit of rhythm, because that's what counts.
02:13And then the people watching the telly at home started to dance.

02:19And even the people in the streets joined in.

02:35the Prime Minister had to send in the paratroops to stop the recording

02:48with the Prime Minister's apologies and a bag of chocolate buttons.
02:52What a disappointment to find themselves on the street after doing so well.
