00:00Harry Hoof, by Roger Hargraves and Gray Jones.
00:29Harry Hoof, an easy-peasy person from Easy-Peasy Island in the middle of the Terrific Ocean.
00:41Harry Hoof was not a happy horse.
00:45Do you know why?
00:47Of course you don't, so I'll tell you.
00:49He lived on Easy-Peasy Island, which he liked, in the middle of the Terrific Ocean, which
00:55he liked, in the middle of a field, which he didn't like, not one little bit.
01:06The trouble was, apart from anything else, every time it rained on Easy-Peasy Island,
01:12his furniture got wet.
01:14I really must find somewhere else to live, he thought, but where?
01:21One Monday he went for a walk to think about where to live, somewhere that would be better
01:26than in the middle of a field.
01:32He met Willie Woof, the Easy-Peasy Dog.
01:35Hello, said Harry Hoof to Willie Woof.
01:38I'm trying to think of somewhere else to live.
01:42What's wrong with your field?
01:43asked Willie Woof.
01:45It's uncomfortable, complained Harry Hoof, and damp.
01:50Then he thought, where do dogs live? he asked.
01:55Well, replied Willie Woof, I live in Fiddlestick Cottage, but lots of dogs live in kennels.
02:04A kennel! cried Harry Hoof.
02:08What a brilliant idea!
02:10And off he rushed in great excitement.
02:13Silly horse!
02:15Willie Woof grinned a doggy grin.
02:21Silly Harry Hoof rushed back to his field, and do you know what he did?
02:26He built himself a kennel.
02:28Can you imagine?
02:29A horse kennel!
02:31It was amazingly, frightfully, horribly uncomfortable, and not at all sensible, and really extremely
02:39silly.
02:40Oh, dear, sighed Harry Hoof.
02:43I think that I had better think again.
02:49Off he went on Tuesday, after spending the most uncomfortable Monday night of his life.
02:55He came across Richard Wriggle, the Easy-Peasy Worm.
02:59Hello, said Harry Hoof to Richard Wriggle.
03:02I'm trying to think of somewhere to live.
03:05Richard Wriggle looked at him.
03:07Easy-peasy, he said.
03:09How about a hole like mine? he suggested.
03:16What's it like living in a hole? asked silly Harry Hoof.
03:20I love it! laughed Richard.
03:23Lived in one all my life.
03:25Wouldn't live anywhere else, he added.
03:28That's it! cried Harry, and rushed back to his field.
03:33Silly horse!
03:34Richard Wriggle smiled a wormy smile and went back into his hole to make himself a
03:39cup of coffee.
03:44Back in his field, Harry Hoof dug himself a large hole and settled down for the night.
03:50In his horse hole!
03:51Can you imagine?
03:53Silly horse!
03:54It was the most amazingly, frightfully, horribly uncomfortable Tuesday night of his life.
04:01So in the morning, he decided to think it out yet again.
04:09And the following morning, Wednesday, off he went again to try and think and work out
04:14where to live.
04:15He walked up and down Easy-Peasy Island twice.
04:19Kennels aren't for horses, he thought to himself.
04:23And holes aren't for horses, he thought to himself.
04:26So, he thought to himself, what are for horses?
04:34He met Bill Buzz, the Easy-Peasy Bee.
04:37Hello, Harry, said Bill.
04:40What are you walking up and down looking so thoughtful about?
04:44I'm thinking, replied Harry.
04:46I can see that, replied Bill.
04:49But what about?
04:51Where to live, said Harry Hoof.
04:54And then he thought.
04:59Where do bees live, he asked.
05:01Well, replied Bill Buzz, I live in Bumble Cottage, but most bees live in beehives.
05:08Whoopee!
05:09shouted Harry Hoof, and he rushed back to his field.
05:13And do you know what he did?
05:14I'll tell you, silly horse.
05:20He built himself a beehive.
05:23Or rather, a horse hive.
05:25Can you imagine?
05:27Oh, he groaned after spending the most amazingly, frightfully, horribly uncomfortable Wednesday
05:33night of his life.
05:35Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, silly, silly, silly horse.
05:44On Thursday morning, as he sat in his armchair in the middle of his field, Harry Hoof sighed
05:50a deep horsey sigh.
05:53I don't like living in a field, he thought.
05:56But I like living in a kennel even less than a field.
06:00And a hole even less than a kennel.
06:03And a hive even less than a hole.
06:09And so, that Thursday afternoon, Harry Hoof went for yet another walk up and down Easy
06:15Peasy Island to work out, yet again, where to live.
06:20As he walked, he thought, and as he thought, he walked.
06:24Up and down, and down and up, and around and about, and about and round.
06:30There must be somewhere better than a field, he thought.
06:34There must.
06:35And do you know something?
06:40There was.
06:41That very Thursday afternoon, Harry Hoof met someone who gave him an idea.
06:47An idea of where to live.
06:49And he loves it.
06:51But then, he's silly.
06:53Would you like to know where he's living now?
06:55Up a tree.
06:56In a horse nest, can you imagine?
06:59And how do I know?
07:05A little bird told me.
07:11I hope you enjoyed that story.
