00:00In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, peace be with you.
00:19We acknowledge our sins on this Feast of St. Thomas the Apostle, and we acknowledge the
00:24compassion, the mercy, and the love of God.
00:29Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy.
00:34May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and lead us into healing and
00:41life everlasting.
00:48Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of goodwill.
00:53We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you.
00:57We give you thanks for your great glory.
01:00Lord God, Heavenly King, O God Almighty Father, Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord
01:07God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on
01:13us.
01:14You take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer.
01:17You are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.
01:21For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High
01:26Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father, Amen.
01:33Let us pray.
01:39Grant eternal God that we may glory in the Feast of the Blessed Apostle Thomas, so that
01:44we may always be sustained by his intercession, and believing may have life.
01:49In the name of Jesus Christ, your Son, whom Thomas acknowledged as the Lord, who lives
01:54and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever, Amen.
02:12A reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Ephesians.
02:17You are no longer aliens or foreign visitors.
02:21You are citizens like all the saints, and part of God's household.
02:26You are part of a building that has the apostles and prophets for its foundations, and Christ
02:31Jesus himself for his cornerstone.
02:35As every structure is aligned to him, all grow into one holy temple in the Lord, and
02:41you too in him are being built into a house where God lives in the Spirit.
02:49The word of the Lord.
02:51Thanks be to God.
02:53Go out to all the world and tell the good news.
02:56Go out to all the world and tell the good news.
03:00All praise the Lord, all you nations, acclaim him, all you peoples.
03:04Go out to all the world and tell the good news.
03:08Strong is his love for us, he is faithful forever.
03:13Go out to all the world and tell the good news.
03:17Alleluia, alleluia, you believe in me, Thomas, because you have seen me.
03:22Happy those who have not seen me, but still believe.
03:26Alleluia.
03:33The Lord be with you.
03:35A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John.
03:40Glory to you, O Lord.
03:41Thomas, called the twin, who was one of the twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus
03:47came.
03:48When they said, We have seen the Lord, he answered, Unless I see the holes that the
03:56nails made in his hands, and put my finger into the holes they made, and unless I can
04:02put my hand into his side, I refuse to believe.
04:07Eight days later the disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them.
04:13The doors were closed, but Jesus came in and stood among them.
04:17Peace be with you, he said.
04:20Then he spoke to Thomas, Put your finger here, look, here are my hands, give me your hand,
04:27put it into my side, doubt no longer, but believe.
04:32Thomas replied, My Lord and my God, Jesus said to them, You believe because you can
04:38see me.
04:39Happy those who have not seen, and yet believe.
04:43The Gospel of the Lord.
04:46Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
04:50Thomas, often called doubting Thomas.
04:57At times we all have doubts, questions.
05:02If approached sensibly and maturely and with openness, there is often an opportunity for
05:08God's grace to work in us and lead us to a deeper understanding, a deeper faith.
05:16In times of confusion, in times of crisis, we don't make big changes in our lives.
05:22We wait for that calming of the Spirit, where we can reflect and listen, often the grace
05:29of God calling us away from mediocrity or to another stage of growth.
05:35Thomas was able to say, I believe, my Lord and my God, and we are called also to keep
05:43reaffirming and restating the statement, my Lord and my God, where else can we go apart
05:50from you?
05:56Because it's the Feast of an Apostle today, we also say the Creed.
06:01I believe in God the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his
06:07only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered
06:13under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried, and descended into hell.
06:19On the third day he rose again from the dead, he ascended into heaven, and is seated at
06:25the right hand of God, the Father Almighty.
06:28From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
06:32I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness
06:38of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.
06:43Amen.
06:44Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have this bread
06:54to offer, which earth has given, human hands have made, it will become for us the bread
06:59of life.
07:00Blessed be God forever.
07:15Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have this wine
07:20to offer, fruit of the divine work of human hands, it will become our spiritual drink.
07:25Blessed be God forever.
07:27Let us pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God
07:48our Almighty Father.
07:50May the Lord accept this sacrifice from our hands, for the praise and glory of God's name,
07:56for our good and the good of God's Holy Church.
08:00We render you, O Lord, the service that is your due, humbly imploring you to keep safe
08:05your gifts in us, as we honor the confession of the Apostle St. Thomas, and offer you a
08:11sacrifice of praise, through Christ our Lord.
08:15Amen.
08:27The Lord be with you.
08:29Lift up your hearts.
08:31Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
08:34It is truly right and just, much more than a duty, and good for our salvation always
08:39and everywhere, to give you thanks, Lord Holy Father, Almighty and Eternal God.
08:45For you, Eternal Shepherd, do not desert your flock, but through the blessed Apostles watch
08:50over it and protect it always, so that it may be governed by those you have appointed
08:56as shepherds, to lead it in the name of your Son.
09:00And so, with angels and archangels, with thrones and dominions, and with all the hosts and
09:05powers of heaven, we sing the hymn of your glory, as without end we acclaim,
09:11Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of your glory,
09:17Hosanna in the highest.
09:19Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest.
09:27You are indeed holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness.
09:30Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like
09:35the dewfall, that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
09:41At the time he was betrayed, and entered willingly into his passion, he took bread, and giving
09:48thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and eat of
09:55it, for this is my body, which will be given up for you.
10:06In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice, and once more giving thanks,
10:13he gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this
10:19is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured
10:26out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins.
10:30Do this in memory of me.
10:33The mystery of faith.
10:40We proclaim your death, O Lord, and profess your resurrection until you come again.
10:49Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you,
10:55Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation.
11:00Giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you.
11:09Humbly we pray that, partaking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into
11:14one by the Holy Spirit.
11:17Remember, Lord, your Church, spread throughout the world, and bring her to the fullness of
11:22charity.
11:23Together with Francis our Pope, me, your unworthy servant, Eugene, our emeritus bishop, all
11:29the clergy who serve your people, and the entire family your son has gained for you.
11:36Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection,
11:41and all who have died in your mercy.
11:44Welcome them into the light of your face.
11:47Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
11:52Blessed Joseph has passed, with the blessed apostles and all the saints who have preached
11:57you throughout the ages, we may, through your grace, merit to be co-heirs to eternal life,
12:03and may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.
12:11Through him, and with him, and in him, O God, Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
12:17all glory and honour is yours, for ever and ever. Amen.
12:22At the Saviour's command, and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say,
12:27Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,
12:32thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
12:37Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
12:42as we forgive those who trespass against us,
12:46and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
12:51Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil. Graciously grant peace in our days,
12:56that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin,
13:00and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope
13:04and the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.
13:08For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and for ever.
13:13Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles,
13:16By peace I leave you, by peace I give you.
13:19Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church,
13:23and graciously grant her peace and unity, in accordance with your will,
13:27who live and reign for ever and ever. Amen.
13:31The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
13:35Let us offer each other a sign of peace. Peace be with you all.
13:40Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world,
13:45have mercy on us.
13:47Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world,
13:51have mercy on us.
13:53Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world,
13:56grant us peace.
13:59Speaking of the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ,
14:02we begin our mass with a sermon.
14:04Lord Jesus Christ, we pray,
14:06that you will not abandon us,
14:08but deliver us from evil.
14:10Amen.
14:16Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world.
14:20Happy are those who are called to the supper of the Lamb.
14:23Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof,
14:26but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.
14:31My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament.
14:36I love you above all things and I desire to receive you into my soul.
14:40Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
14:43come at least spiritually into my heart.
14:46I embrace you as if you were already there
14:49and unite myself wholly to you.
14:52Never permit me to be separated from you.
14:55Amen.
14:58Let us pray.
15:00O God, as we truly receive in this sacrament
15:03the body of your only begotten Son,
15:05grant, we pray, that we may recognize him
15:08with the Apostle Thomas by faith as our Lord and our God
15:12and proclaim him by our deeds and by our life,
15:15who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen.
15:19The Lord be with you.
15:21And may the peace and the blessing of the Father and of the Son
15:24and of the Holy Spirit come upon you and remain always with you.
15:28Let us go and live the Gospel.
15:31Thanks be to God.
15:33God bless your day.
