00:00David and I did a podcast one time, they wanted us to kind of like do a podcast where you just,
00:04you know, they wanted us to kind of swear. Really? Ha, swearing? Neither of us could do it.
00:10Because we were behind the microphone. Morning, morning, morning, mother bleeper.
00:13Morning. What the bleep's going on? It's hard to purposely swear just to make a point.
00:18Oh, I know. And here's the problem. Like when I was doing podcasts, I never would swear because
00:22then it would just lead to doing it on these microphones. You get confused and conflated
00:27if you like, if you just got used to talking the way you normally do in front of a microphone.
00:32I remember I was, I forget what I was covering, but I had a girlfriend who, you know, didn't
00:38probably have as much faith in me as you need. But, uh, she said to me, I was going on Chet
00:43Coppock show and she said, how are you doing everybody? She said to me, whatever you do,
00:47don't say the blank word, you know, the F word that needed to be said, the word. And she's like,
00:54don't say that. And I'm like, why, why would you say that? I don't, it's not like I walk
00:58around saying that we're all, you know, something bad happens. I heard, I've heard you mutter that
01:02word. I'm like, why would you bring that up as I'm about to go on the radio? And literally the
01:07whole time I would make might've been the worst radio hit I ever did. Cause all I could think
01:12about was don't say, it was like, it was so, it was ringing in my head. Oh, that's hilarious.
01:20I've told you about the time I let the F word slip out on WBBM. Did I? Oh yeah. This was a doozy
01:27years ago in another lifetime. I was a reporter at BBM and I was anchoring over there. And then
01:33you do this, the two minute sports report. I was anchoring from a white socks game one night. And
01:39at the end of the night, come midnight, I, my job, I was tasked with from the state record
01:45three different up to three or four different updates. And we'll run during the overnight
01:49remark roadie here. Here's what happened at the socks game. The Cubs did this, the bulls did this,
01:53blah, blah, blah. Sometimes when you're recording, you mess up and you're like, so,
01:57and I said, I go, I would go to the white socks, lose six to three, uh, bleep F word.
02:04And I got to do it again. So I did it again. Unfortunately, they played that one and played
02:09them. So it's 1250 WBBM news time, 1215 with sports. Here's Mark roadie, the white socks that
02:15Oh, bleep. Oh, did you hear it? I did not hear it. What I did hear was a phone call the next
02:24morning at seven o'clock drew Hayes. Hey, what was going on there? You're swearing on the air.
02:30And I'm like, I'm like, I'm just trying to wake. Yeah. I like drew, but, but that's what happened.
02:35Um, and I'm like trying to clean the dust out of my eyes. And I'm like, uh, like I was like,
02:41in shock being yelled at. I didn't know what happened. And then I realized what happened.
02:46And I said, and he's like, okay, well it's not your fault, but you never swear in front of an
02:51open mic. Goodbye. Oh God. It's true. You really shouldn't know. It's true. And I never have since
