The Human Resources Ministry has submitted the audit reports on the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), said ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud in a press conference on Friday (July 5).

00:16He told the press that he submitted to the commission a report containing issues raised
00:21in both the Auditor General and Public Accounts Committee's reports on Friday morning.
00:27He said the MACC had assured that a fair investigation will be conducted as soon as possible.
00:34He said no officials from HRD Corp had been suspended pending the investigation.
00:40The Public Accounts Committee report highlighted several suspicious real estate deals and high
00:45risk investments, among other issues.
00:48The purchase of Manara Iklas for RM202.5 million in 2021 saw a RM120 million deposit being
00:57paid up front to a company.
00:59The agreement was a sales and purchase agreement, but the content was a lease-to-purchase agreement.
01:04The purchase of the property was eventually cancelled.
01:07Questions were also raised on the purchase of a Bangsar South building for RM154 million
01:14which did not obtain the approval of the HRD Corp Board and Block A of Sutera Avenue in
01:21Kota Kinabalu for RM16 million, which was not tabled in the board meeting.
01:27The PAC said HRD Corp had invested levy collected from employers on several high risk investments
01:36despite it not being an investment institution.
01:39They said the training fund's levy collection stood at RM2.13 billion in 2023, an increase
01:46from RM475 million in 2020.
01:50The Auditor General's report also highlighted the similar issues of the purchase of properties.
01:56The report said HRD Corp had outstanding levies amounting to RM205.42 million as of the end
02:05of last year, with 62 levy applications approved after the training date.
02:10The report noted that some RM4.8 million of the government grant from 2020 remained unused
02:17and unreturned, while there were 29 investment transactions with unrealized losses totaling
02:24RM49.38 million.
