00:00Former Finance Minister Tun Daim Zainuddin has applied for the prosecution to produce
00:07the report lodged against him with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission that resulted in
00:13him being charged for failing to declare his assets.
00:17In the application filed on July 31, Daim claimed that the report was the basis of the
00:23MACC serving him with a notice to declare his assets.
00:28In case management on Thursday, the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court asked whether the report
00:33existed.
00:35The prosecution said they received the application, but they did not intend to rely on the document
00:40during the trial.
00:42The court then fixed August 27 to hear the disclosure application.
00:46Daim, reported to be a kidney transplant patient, was not present.
00:51But his wife Topuan Naima Abdul Khalid attended the hearing.
00:56Daim said his defence team had written to the MACC to request for a copy of the report,
01:01but did not receive any response.
01:04He said the report could be favourable to his defence, and that the respondent has an
01:09obligation to furnish him with the report under the law.
01:13In January, Daim was charged over his alleged failure to declare his assets.
