00:00We needed a change and I think people should be a lot more responsible when they're looking after the country.
00:07And I think it's been a bit of a shambles.
00:11Although I will say, I think Richie Sunak is a very honest person.
00:17I like his manner, he's cool.
00:20You know, but some of the others, well, they've gone now, haven't they?
00:25Well, some of them, not all of them. There's still another one.
00:30Farage, Tice and Lee Anderson, and they're all good advocates for British.
00:37And British values and British way of life.
00:40How do you think the general election result will affect you personally?
00:45I think I'll be worse off. I think I'll be a lot worse off.
00:49Because they're not interested in working people.
00:53They're just nothing at all.
00:56I'm pleased that we've got rid of the Tory government.
01:00Less pleased about what seems to be a struggle from the Labour Party.
01:05For the first time in my life I voted Green rather than Labour.
01:10And that's mainly to do with the environmental issues and to a lesser extent Gaza and Israel and that sort of thing.
01:19I don't know, just glad that I'm going to enjoy life under a Labour government in my seventies.
01:30And not have another, at least five more years of the Tories.
01:35How will it affect you? Do you know how a Labour government might affect you personally?
01:41Well, you know, I'm in a position where I'm happy to pay more tax if we get better public services.
01:47I can afford to pay a bit more tax. I guess a lot of people aren't as fortunate as I am.
01:53But I'm happy to pay tax if that gets us better public services, better NHS, better schools, better transport.
02:00How do you feel about South Yorkshire going red?
02:04Well, that is what we're used to.
02:08I'm old enough to remember when it was always red and it was taken for granted that it would always be red.
02:16I think Hallam had a bit of an episode with the Dems, perhaps in the Conservatives, a while ago.
02:22But apart from that, it's been red for most of my life.
02:26Business as usual?
02:28Yeah, that's my putting it, yes.
