00:00Hi there, it's John Blow from the Yorkshire Post Features Team. I'm going to take you
00:04through some of the things coming up in the week ahead.
00:06First of all, after the Labour landslide victory, Sir Keir Starmer was set about putting forward
00:10his party's agenda when Parliament returns tomorrow. Sir Keir became Prime Minister on
00:16Friday after his party hammered the Conservatives in the snap election, which led to former
00:21Prime Minister Liz Truss and a number of serving Cabinet members losing their seats.
00:26Meanwhile, it's that time of year again where the region's biggest display of Royal
00:30life takes place at the Great Yorkshire Show. The 165th show takes place in Harrogate from
00:36tomorrow until Friday, although tickets for the final three days are sold out.
00:41Elsewhere, we have arrived at the last week of the Euros. Two semi-finals will take place
00:46tomorrow and Wednesday before the final happens in Berlin on Sunday. Also on that day, teams
00:52will compete on the River Ouse during the York Rotary Dragon Boat Challenge. The event
00:57will be raising money for local charities.
