Ali is the son of a poor family who grew up in a provincial city. Due to his autism and savant syndrome, he has been constantly excluded and marginalized. Ali has difficulty communicating, and has two friends in his life: His brother and his rabbit. Ali loses both of them and now has only one wish: Saving people. After his brother's death, Ali is disowned by his father and grows up in an orphanage. Dr Adil discovers that Ali has tremendous medical skills due to savant syndrome and takes care of him. After attending medical school and graduating at the top of his class, Ali starts working as an assistant surgeon at the hospital where Dr Adil is the head physician. Although some people in the hospital administration say that Ali is not suitable for the job due to his condition, Dr Adil stands behind Ali and gets him hired. 00:04What's the rush, Ali? We can do it.
00:06We have the same schedule.
00:08Let's go together.
00:10I'm going back to Cerrah.
00:11Why are you going back?
00:12I even joined the celebration.
00:14Please join.
00:16You even danced, Ali.
00:23Good morning.
00:26I couldn't dance well enough, right?
00:28I'm not used to adding things.
00:30No, I think you added it quite well.
00:34But if you want to progress,
00:36I can help you.
00:38Can we dance together?
00:40Of course we can.
00:42We can buy a music system at home.
00:44If we're going to dance, we need loud music.
00:46Loud music?
00:48I don't understand what it is,
00:50but if I work a little,
00:52I can make you listen to loud music.
00:58You made me laugh.
01:00We're late.
01:06Let's go.
01:08Let's go.
01:10Let's go.
01:14Good morning, sir.
01:16Good morning.
01:18We have good news for you.
01:22I hope it's good news.
01:28No.
01:32It's bad.
01:36Sir?
01:38The Ministry of Health has completed its preparations.
01:42The administrative investigation has begun as of the moment.
01:58I hope it's good news.
02:16What's up?
02:18I don't know.
02:20What do you feel today?
02:22I feel like...
02:24Yes, my dear, take some weight off your chest, so that you look like a branch, so that your face is colored.
02:29Not exactly like that, if I take a little more,
02:33more like this,
02:36like this,
02:37like this.
02:38What?
02:39Are you serious?
02:40No, I mean, yes, I'm serious, teacher.
02:42I told Ferman that I wanted a child.
02:46I mean, I left myself, I had such a big burden on me.
02:50What was it?
02:51Did you get an offer?
02:54I have doubts that he will come soon.
02:57Because he was so happy.
02:59I mean, I think something will happen tomorrow.
03:01I love you so much.
03:03I love you too.
03:05Teacher, a committee from the Municipal Health Board came.
03:08Why did they come?
03:10Ms. Beliz...
03:12I've been waiting for this.
03:16For Nazlı.
03:24These are a team of three doctors appointed by the Ministry of Health.
03:29They will prepare a report according to the statements they have made.
03:36That report will determine the decision.
03:42I can testify.
03:43Don't.
03:44Why?
03:45I have enough experience.
03:47And I can help Nazlı.
03:49Let me talk.
03:50Why don't you want me to talk?
03:51Ali, this is a very serious situation.
03:54I'm sorry.
04:00It would be better if you were with me today.
04:02Okay?
04:05Okay.
04:06Let's go.
04:11Ali.
04:18Don't forget to call me when you call Nazlı, okay?
04:21Of course, teacher.
04:25You'll be with me until then.
04:31Come on.
04:33Let's do what we know best.
04:36Let's help each other.
04:39Come on.
04:41Follow me.
04:44Come in.
04:45Come in.
04:52I've prepared a few things.
04:54But if you need anything else, please let me know.
04:59These are the details of the Ministry of Health.
05:01Let me see.
05:03I'm in charge of everything.
05:04If you need anything, I'll be here.
05:08I don't think we need you.
05:10Unfortunately, there will be someone else.
05:13Chief Doctor, doctors, nurses...
05:16...patient care workers who are in emergency during the event...
05:19...even security.
05:20Everyone, but everyone should be ready, please.
05:26Okay.
05:28Good luck.
05:29Good luck.
05:42This is not good at all.
05:46What will happen now?
05:47What punishment will be given to Nazlı?
05:50What Nazlı?
05:51Think about yourself.
05:54Why?
05:55Why?
05:57In such cases, the hospital may be punished.
06:01I'm talking about financial punishment.
06:03The amount can be anything.
06:06Pray that this doesn't happen to us.
06:12NEW YORK
06:34I'm starting a new job.
06:36And Gizem will start a new school.
06:38I will make a whole new page.
06:40I'm very excited, Mr. Danjou.
06:42My father is an omega in the vocational high school.
06:45He sometimes brings girls to such people.
06:52He's kidding, kidding.
06:54He can't laugh, so his joke is not understood.
07:00We always laugh from the inside.
07:02From now on, you will laugh from the outside, too.
07:07Mr. Demir, can you tell me what we're going to do?
07:13Moebius syndrome.
07:156th and 7th cranial nerve pairs are paralyzed.
07:18The 7th pair controls facial expressions.
07:21So the patient can't laugh.
07:23But fortunately, we didn't find a restriction in Mrs. Gizem's 6th pair.
07:27Which is a very good thing.
07:30So, in summary, we're going to take two muscles from your leg.
07:33We're going to put it on your face with nerves and arteries.
07:36It's that simple.
07:38What do you say?
07:40Shall we do the surgery?
07:43No, don't.
07:51I'm sorry.
07:52As you can see.
07:54No one understands my jokes.
07:56Of course, do the surgery. I'm kidding.
08:02Do you want to be my comedian?
08:04Yes.
08:09Since you're willing to die in an elective operation...
08:12...you care a lot about understanding our jokes.
08:21Laughing shouldn't be that important.
08:25You can't be happy every day.
08:28Mr. Ali.
08:34Mrs. Gizem, can we talk?
08:53Mr. Arif.
08:54Don't mind Mr. Ali.
08:58I don't think I did anything wrong.
09:01I think we should be honest with our patients.
09:05Mr. Ali.
09:07We're going to make a young girl laugh.
09:15Doctor.
09:19It's not just about making her laugh.
09:23The other day, Gizem and I were watching a volleyball game on TV.
09:27Dad said they were ruining themselves.
09:32I went and got in shape.
09:34I thought she was excited.
09:36But she wasn't.
09:40She had problems with volleyball girls in her old school.
09:47She threw them all out of the window.
09:50I don't understand her feelings, doctor.
09:54Is she laughing?
09:55Is she sad?
09:57Is she scared?
09:59I don't understand her expression.
10:03Especially after her mother died.
10:07Please, give Gizem back to me.
10:11Give her back her smile.
10:14Give her back her smile.
10:17Give her back her smile, doctor.
10:20Mr. Arif.
10:22Don't worry. We'll do everything we can.
10:25Thank you very much.
10:27Gizem.
10:45I was telling her about the lesson at school.
10:49Suddenly, I fainted.
10:52It's probably because I didn't have breakfast.
10:54Would you like me to go?
10:56Did you take any medicine in the last three months?
11:01I hurt my back.
11:03I used a muscle relaxant.
11:06It made my stomach numb.
11:09I took a stomach medicine.
11:12When I took the medicine, I had a flu.
11:17When I had a flu, I started taking flu medicine.
11:21When I didn't have a flu...
11:25...I took antibiotics.
11:27A few packs of painkillers.
11:29That's it.
11:30Which doctor prescribed this medicine?
11:33To be honest, the doctor didn't prescribe it.
11:37I used whatever I could find at home.
11:40It's up to you.
11:43It's really great.
11:46You're a teacher.
11:49You're a teacher, aren't you Mr. Veli?
11:53You're 100% right.
11:55I don't have anything to say.
11:57But I have twins.
11:58They kiss your hands.
12:00They bring them home no matter how many diseases they have.
12:03So I had to...
12:05I understand, but can you move a little?
12:07Thank you.
12:11Do you have it?
12:12Yes, it's right there.
12:15Yes, it's right there.
12:18Don't these microbes infect your mothers?
12:20Are you the only one who gets sick?
12:22Their mothers...
12:29Their mothers are your life.
12:33The twins were two years old.
12:35Their mothers had a fever.
12:37I took them to the hospital.
12:40We thought they were fine.
12:42They had surgery.
12:46I thought they were going to make it.
12:51But they couldn't.
12:55Are you taking care of both of them?
12:58I am.
13:02Yeliz was my childhood love.
13:06We grew up together in the orphanage.
13:08I had no one but her.
13:12And now she's gone.
13:18I only have twins.
13:21I'm their father.
13:25Sir, I have to pick up my twins from school.
13:27If you'll excuse me, I'll go.
13:29Please, please.
13:31Sit down.
13:33I'll be right back.
13:35I'll go.
13:36Please, please.
13:38Sit down.
13:39Sir, I have to pick up my twins from school.
13:42I understand, Nazlı.
13:45We have to do an ultrasound.
13:47No, no, sir. I have to pick up my twins.
13:49Could you please move a little, Mr. Beli?
13:52I have no one but my twins.
13:54Every time I press your stomach, you feel pain.
13:56Your eyes are closing.
13:58You haven't taken any serum and your fever hasn't gone down yet.
14:00Unfortunately.
14:02We have to do some detailed tests.
14:04That's all.
14:05Nazlı.
14:07Nazlı.
14:11Mr. Beli, please.
14:13Please don't move.
14:15We'll talk again, okay?
14:31Nazlı.
14:32What happened now?
14:34I'm sorry, sir.
14:37What happened?
14:39I raised them on my own.
14:41I didn't have a father like that.
14:44That's how I felt.
14:52Were you alone when you were a kid?
14:57You're not alone.
15:00But we're not alone anymore.
15:04Right?
15:10You're afraid of the school.
15:12Everyone is afraid.
15:19But we're there for you.
15:21Don't forget.
15:24I won't forget.
15:26They took Mr. Adil inside.
15:29He'll watch you there.
15:31Don't worry.
15:33Come on.
15:37Let's go and see what happened to Mr. Beli.
15:39Come on.
15:46After Ms. Nazlı did the research...
15:48...she realized that the patient was forgotten in the cremation.
15:52Despite not being responsible...
15:56...she went to the forest and found the patient.
15:59Yes, the intubation was wrong.
16:02But it was done on the side of the road and in the dark.
16:05This can happen to all of us.
16:08Ms. Nazlı is very dedicated to her profession.
16:11And she's a very good doctor.
16:13I'm behind my doctor.
16:16Who's behind you?
16:22Ms. AyÅŸe...
16:24...are we going to fight?
16:26That's not our method.
16:28But if you want...
16:30...we can go, Mr. Adil.
16:39I'll ask you one question.
16:41Why did you do a brain surgery...
16:43...on a brain-dead patient?
16:47Didn't you realize that the patient...
16:49...was a brain-dead patient?
16:53It's urgent.
16:55We don't have time.
17:05It was right when it came to me.
17:09I think...
17:11...someone fixed it.
17:13It's urgent.
17:15It's not a procedure, is it?
17:17It's not a procedure, Mr. Adil.
17:19Because this is not a single mistake.
17:21It's like that night's accident.
17:23It's a chain of mistakes.
17:25So don't try to stand behind anyone.
17:30Everyone is at the end of the line in this hospital.
17:42I'm waiting in the car in front of the hospital.
17:47I'll be there in 45 minutes.
18:08Beliz?
18:10Ferhat.
18:12What is it?
18:14Beliz, what happened?
18:16Please, take a deep breath after drinking.
18:18Drink, drink, drink, drink, drink.
18:19Okay, take a deep breath now.
18:22Take it, let it go.
18:24Let it go.
18:25Take it, let it go, like that.
18:27Just like that, just like that.
18:30There's a doctor next to you right now, okay?
18:31You're safe, you're safe, you're safe.
18:35Calm down.
18:37You're safe.
18:39Okay, okay.
18:44Okay.
18:46Can you tell me what happened?
18:53Parman, the hospital is in a very bad condition.
19:00How bad?
19:01Terrible.
19:04We've almost run out of our resources.
19:08When did we run out, Belize?
19:10Since my father, I mean, I was very inexperienced.
19:13I couldn't stop him, he was right in front of me.
19:15What am I going to do, Parman?
19:17What am I going to do?
19:18Shh, okay, come, come, come.
19:21Come.
19:23We'll get through this together.
19:25I'm with you.
19:26We'll take care of it, don't worry.
19:28We were going to take care of it.
19:29We had made a very good plan,
19:31but this investigation ruined everything.
19:33The hospital could have been fined, Parman.
19:36What am I going to do?
19:39You're going to do whatever you're doing now.
19:41You're going to share it with me.
19:43We'll be sad together.
19:45We'll think together.
19:48But we'll get out of there together.
19:51Okay?
19:54What you're saying doesn't mean anything to me anymore, Belize.
19:59I can't.
20:01But I'm curious.
20:04Why didn't you tell me until now, and now you're telling me?
20:09Because I've let myself go.
20:13I've given myself to you.
20:17After the baby spoke.
20:32Come here.
20:37We'll take care of it.
20:39The only thing you have to do is to be strong.
20:41And don't tell anyone, okay?
20:44We'll figure it out together.
20:49The wall is a mystery.
20:53That's what the people at school tell me.
20:59Idiot.
21:09That's what they used to tell me.
21:14This is not very smart.
21:17I'm a pretty smart guy.
21:22Once I told them that.
21:26It worked.
21:29They never said it again.
21:31It worked.
21:34They never said it again.
21:44You were being ironic, I understand.
21:48Did you understand?
22:01Maybe it's not like you.
22:05I'm on a different spectrum.
22:09People don't accept you the way you are.
22:12I understand.
22:14That's what they do to me.
22:18Nine out of ten.
22:21But...
22:23When there's only one person left.
22:25He's the only one.
22:29Nine out of ten doesn't hurt that much.
22:36I'm very confused today.
22:41Because...
22:44That one person for me...
22:47Dr. Nazlı.
22:51He's going to be in front of the board today.
22:54He may lose his medical degree.
22:59I'm sorry.
23:02Don't be sorry.
23:05I'm sure...
23:07One day you'll be able to find your Nazlı.
23:23I'm sorry.
23:30Do you really think this operation is risky?
23:33They didn't tell me exactly.
23:38There are possible complications.
23:40Embolism, hemorrhage, collateral paralysis,
23:42asymmetry, brain damage and stroke.
23:46Besides, the operation is expensive.
23:48And of course, it's unnecessary.
23:53I'm sorry.
24:07Get well soon.
24:09Thank you.
24:20How lucky your children are.
24:22You've dedicated yourself to them.
24:24I'm their father. Isn't that normal?
24:26Unfortunately.
24:28Not everyone can take care of them.
24:33It's hard to find fathers like you, Mr. Veli.
24:45Ms. Nazlı, what happened?
24:48Ms. Nazlı, there's a pain there.
24:49One minute.
24:51Ms. Nazlı.
24:54Ms. Nazlı, what happened?
24:56Doctor.
24:58It's urgent.
25:00I'll take care of it.
25:01Doctor.
25:06Yes, what is it?
25:08Show me.
25:10It's right there.
25:11Yes, yes.
25:12The appendix burst.
25:13Call the emergency room.
25:14No, no.
25:16Doctor, my children.
25:17They're going to leave school.
25:18My children.
25:19Don't hang up, girl. Come here.
25:21Turn it.
25:22No, no, doctor.
25:23My children are going to leave school.
25:24I have to take them.
25:25I don't have anyone else.
25:26We'll let you know where to go.
25:28Don't worry.
25:29Be careful.
25:30Mr. Veli, you're in a very urgent situation.
25:31You're going to have an appendectomy.
25:32Turn it. It's urgent.
25:37My daughter's cake is here.
25:39Come in.
25:48Dad, why did you spend money now?
25:52Don't think about it.
25:53Will I not have a job?
25:55Gizem, we've finished all the preparations.
25:57Tomorrow, our first job will be to operate on you.
25:59Okay, then.
26:00Let's cut our cake.
26:01Mr. Tanju, you eat too, right?
26:05Don't cut it, dad.
26:07Why?
26:10Because I changed my mind.
26:31I don't want to have an operation.
26:39I don't want to have an operation.
26:57Ali?
27:03I'm doing business.
27:04But you're always on my mind, Nazli.
27:09How are you? What are you doing? I'm very curious.
27:13I didn't collapse.
27:16But I'm not alive.
27:25I'm fine.
27:26I mean, I'm managing.
27:31I'm not that bad.
27:34I'm holding on.
27:36Nazli?
27:38Did they call you?
27:39It's time.
27:41Did they call me? Will they interrogate me?
27:43No, no.
27:44I came for tests after the operation, but...
27:47No one asked you yet.
27:48They took the sun now.
27:50Did I scare you?
27:51I'm so sorry.
27:52Sorry.
27:54Okay.
27:56I'll come later.
27:57Okay.
27:59I said I'm fine.
28:00But you don't look like that at all, Nazli.
28:07Look, I prepared these for you.
28:09For you.
28:11You did it to me, you know.
28:13Look, you know, the cases where I was successful.
28:15I took them all out.
28:16I took them all out.
28:17I'll tell you all about it when it's done.
28:20I'll tell you everything.
28:22I'll tell you everything.
28:24I'll tell you everything.
28:25I'll tell you everything.
28:26I'll tell you everything.
28:28Ali, you don't have to tell me everything.
28:30But tell me about them.
28:31I'll tell you about them.
28:33Please.
28:35Really.
28:37Just be with me, that's enough.
28:42I'm always with you, Nazli.
28:46Of course, if you want.
28:50I'm always...
28:52I'm always with you.
28:53Even if no one is with you, I'm always with you, Nazli.
28:57I won't leave you alone.
29:03I know.
29:05What can I say?
29:10Ali, I'm glad you're here.
29:14You too.
29:15Come in.
29:26I brought a bottle from the fire station.
29:30Ms. Nazlı disinfected it before she used it.
29:34What was there on the way?
29:37First aid kit. Standard equipment.
29:40And whatever was in the ambulance at that moment.
29:43So you did everything you could as the nurse at the pharmacy.
29:48I think I did.
29:53Okay.
29:55Isn't it one of the nurse's duties to check the patient's saturation?
30:02I don't understand.
30:04Don't nurses monitor ventilation in this hospital like the rest of the world?
30:12I mean...
30:14Let me get to the point.
30:16Did you check the patient's breathing after the intubation, Mr. Güneş?
30:36No.
30:37In other words, the patient comes to the operating room from the scene of the incident.
30:43He's out of surgery.
30:45Not a single servant of God notices this.
30:48So you're to blame.
30:52You're as guilty as Ms. Nazlı in this case.
30:57There's going to be an order.
31:07You're going to pay for this.
31:09A FEW HOURS LATER
31:35Ms. Selvi.
31:36Yes?
31:37I'm thinking of buying a bike. What do you think?
31:39I've bought one before, but I'm not sure it's a good one.
31:42But you have a bike.
31:43I have a bike.
31:44I won't let anyone say anything about my bike.
31:46But I don't know. What else could it be?
31:48He said he wanted to go on a tropical vacation.
31:50I looked it up. It's too expensive. I can't do it. What am I going to do?
31:54Who are you thinking of buying these for?
31:57For Nazlı.
32:01Ali.
32:02You don't have to buy anything for Nazlı.
32:04It's enough that she has a son with her.
32:06He said that too.
32:08But it's not enough.
32:10Nazlı is very sad.
32:14Maybe if I buy something, her sadness will go away.
32:17But what?
32:20You're a knowledgeable person, aren't you?
32:22You tell me, what am I going to do?
32:27Ali.
32:30You're coming with me.
32:31Come on.
32:32Come on.
32:34Come on.
32:44You gave up the surgery.
32:47I only said the potential risks.
32:49Embolism, hemorrhage, collateral paralysis, asymmetry...
32:52...brain damage and stroke.
32:53All of these are correct.
32:54Did you say stroke to the girl?
32:56Yes.
32:57Because...
32:58It could have been. Because it was like that.
33:00Ali.
33:01These types of risks occur in every surgery.
33:03These things are said according to the risk ratio.
33:06So you...
33:08...don't think smiling is that important, huh?
33:10The importance of smiling is exaggerated.
33:12There are studies that support this.
33:14There are also those who don't support it.
33:20Ali, look.
33:22When we smile, we have endorphins.
33:24So we're happy.
33:25The people around us will be happy too.
33:28When we see someone smiling...
33:29...our vasotemporal lobes move.
33:32And we imitate their smile.
33:34So smiling is contagious.
33:36Everyone will be happy.
33:37Can you explain?
33:44Look.
33:46Isn't it beautiful?
33:49Everyone likes to be happy.
33:52Huh? How?
33:56Your smile is not functional.
33:59You don't have endorphins.
34:00Your obracularis muscles around your eyes...
34:02...did not participate in your smile.
34:04So you didn't have endorphins.
34:06So you're actually happy.
34:10Ali.
34:11Is this look from the inside?
34:16From the inside.
34:20Sir, Ali may not have done anything.
34:24I mean...
34:25...when Mr. Rahmi ran away from surgery and passed away...
34:27...I investigated this matter.
34:29Why do people give up on surgery?
34:32So?
34:33There are three main reasons.
34:34Fear, confusion and material causes.
34:47I found the reason.
34:48Come with me.
34:54So he didn't give up because of me?
34:59No.
35:07Is there anything?
35:08No.
35:15I'm here.
35:16Güneş.
35:18What happened?
35:19What did they say?
35:24I think we're at the end of the road.
35:27How?
35:30How?
35:32What are they accusing you of?
35:37I didn't check the patient's saturation.
35:40I panicked at that moment.
35:42Güneş.
35:55I don't know if I'm in or out.
35:57It can be arranged somehow.
36:03I'll stay away from you.
36:04He sat there.
36:06He's not going.
36:07Don't say that.
36:08Don't say that, please.
36:09It won't be obvious right away, right?
36:11Would they do that right away?
36:14Güneş.
36:17What kind of people are they?
36:20The inside is incredibly tense, Nazlı.
36:24And they're pretty good at their job.
36:26They'll call you when it's your turn.
36:31It's obvious that I'm going to get a big punishment.
36:34That's what it looks like.
36:38They're going to kill me.
36:41No, what did you do?
36:43They're going to take Sazlım from me.
36:45Are they going to take everything away from me?
36:47Nazlı.
36:48Look.
36:52There's Adil.
36:53There's Ferman.
36:54They're not going to leave you alone.
36:55Yes.
37:08Mr. Veli.
37:09Run.
37:10Güneş, me too.
37:11Thanks.
37:15Come on, sit down.
37:18Come on, sit down.
37:26What happened?
37:27His fever went up.
37:28His blood pressure is dropping.
37:2980 to 40.
37:30Open the sheets.
37:34Nazlı.
37:37The sheets are wet.
37:42His wound is clean.
37:43His infection must have increased by now.
37:45What's going on?
37:46Nazlı, should I call Mr. Ferman?
37:47Hurry up, Saliha.
37:48Open your hands.
37:49Acetaminophen.
37:50500.
37:51Ampiric.
37:52Meropenem.
37:53Acitic.
37:54Hurry.
37:55It's urgent.
37:56Be quick.
37:59Hurry, hurry, hurry.
38:00Are you done?
38:01Biochemistry.
38:02Hemogram.
38:05Blood culture.
38:06I want it fast.
38:09Oh, Mr. Veli.
38:10I won't let your children remain without a father.
38:12Don't worry.
38:15All you have to do is hang in there.
38:19Please, hang in there.
38:20Please, hang in there.
